This weekend marks the introduction of K-1 to the U.S. The line up for the middleweights looks pretty good with a lot of familiar names from the American Nak Muay scene. Michael Manaquil will be taking on Scotty Leffler, Chaz Mulkey will be fighting against Kit Cope, whom I’ve not heard of this his MTV True Life: “I’m a Muay Thai fighter” and probably most excitedly; Romie Adanza is getting another shot at Andy Howson. The two fought a while back in a close fight so this bout should be an exciting match to watch. Lerdsilla will also be fighting Gabriel Varga, who hails from Victoria B.C.
The fights will be stream on spike.com starting at 8pm on Saturday.

would really like to see Andy Howson rematching Adanza under FTR to be honest. Think k1 rules will suit Adanza much better. Also Im a self admitted Lerdsilla fan boy but I just can’t see him doing that well in k1 rules, although he does seem almost impossible to hit!!!

They Had K-1 in the US in the late 90′s and early 2000′s.
As for Kit Cope’s True Life episode he fights bareknuckle in Chiang Mai apparently against a cab driver, he is significantly larger than his opponent, you can probably guess what happens.
