K-1 GP and NYC this weekend.

This weekend the heavyweights have a go in Seoul. K-1 World GP Final Eliminations are on this Saturday.

I’ll be posted vids as soon as they get up. As always, please don’t post any spoilers. Many thanks to K-1 fans for the poster. I recently read on the forums that that instead of Karaev, JLB will be facing off with Melvin Manhoef. I’d love to see that one go down. Both these guys are savages… somebody’s getting KTFO.
Hey for those of you out East, 5 Points Fitness is holding their Mayhem event. It looks like they’ve graduated from Mulberry Street to Roseland.

I’m pretty sure you can still get tix via ticketmaster. Hopefully my roving reporter Vanessa will make it out to the event.

muaythai event.muaythai champ. muaythai style . fight around the world.
what kick from japan..that muaythai style. just modify 3/3 r/m …ha ha
The heavyweights just don’t do it for me.. Large and slow..
Karaev wont fight Lebanner.
I know for a fact he is trying to scam his way out of fighting. He hasnt even been training. After 4 VICOUS knock outs, I guess he needs a break?
And ERNESTO? SLOW, LARGE and POWERFUL.
I guess real strength isnt for everyone.
There are a few exciting bouts on the card-Bojansky, LeBanner and Melhoef for example. Aerts and Sefo still fighting- they are like 1000 years old, but still winning!
Go Remy Go!
I can’t wait to see Remy and Badr’s fights…..those should be very good. Those two figthers are far from slow…..Manhoef….far from slow…..but I can’t vouch for the other fighters though….lol. Yo Nop, I think I might make it to the Mayhem ( if they ain’t sold out).
Enesto, for me heavyweight is large and sloppy! Good technique actually gives you strength. Not how huge you are, right guys???
How huge u are does naturally give u more strength to start with. But through training, good movement, full hip rotation and a few more factors, it’s not uncommon for a lighter weight to hit with great strength.
Watching a HW and watchin a lightweight fight is like watching 2 different fights. One is more about speed and tactics while the other relies more on brute strength…..but if u want a mix of both worlds the best fights to watch are the Middleweights. They bring a mixture of both, there’s a reason why the best fighters in the world are MiddleWeights. There’s a reason why the most exciting fights are from the MiddleWeights. GP is dropping lower and lower every year while the World Max is climbing higher and higher every year.
Keep in mind that there are exceptions….there are really fast fighters in the HW division and there are really strong fighters in the lightweight division.
Slightly off topic, but I find the dudes at 170lbs the scariest. Tyrone Spong anyone?
Remy is a total BAD ASS.. That statement was a complete generalization. there are of course exceptions but it’s so much more technical seeing people that aren’t relying on their POWER to win..
Spong is the man !!!
Ernesto……my statement was a complete generalization, I did point that out. I do agree with “it’s so much more technical seeing people that aren’t relying on their POWER to win..”
I am a fan of TARD strength though
