This blog is always going to be primarily focused on Muay Thai; every now and then we’ll take in some junk food. This week, I’ll try to cleanse our palate with some quality Muay Thai.
This is an all out war… This fight took place just a couple of days ago at Rajadomnern. If you look carefully you can see Rob Cox in the corner getting sprayed… lucky bastard!
Anyway Jomthong is one of the star fighters for the Chuwattana camp. He’s been training there since ‘07; previously he had fought out of the Sit-O camp in Buriram. Jomthong is former Rajadomnern Bantamweight champ, 2007 sports writers fighter of the year and current WMC featherweight champ.
I know slightly less about Petchphor Sitjaiphor, who has coming off recent victories over Bovy and Anuwat. Petchphor is the marquee fighter for Onesongchai promotions.

Nop – for those of us who don’t know too many fighters, could you identify who’s who? Is Jomthong in the red or blue?
Thanks!
Great fight btw.

Flippin’ brilliant fight. Especially round 4. The skill is awe inspiring.

damn sorry about that… Jomthong is in the Red Trunks

i think Jomthong actually did a better job through out the entire match, he seemed more aggressive. but Petchphor REALLY started turing it on later on.
so it was a draw then? i only got to see up to 15:18 and it didn’t look like they were through.

draw? that was pretty bad ass kicking action!

This was a great fight. I think the draw was a good decision. I couldn’t decide who was winning. Jomthong was controlling the pace but Petchpor was doing a great job counterfighting. I was real impressed and surprised by Petchpor’s use of his left kick against a southpaw. My understanding is that against a southpaw a person with a regular stance should typically use the right kick. His kicks were so clean and fast. Both those kids looked like young tight, taut, thai, tigers.

Reeeaaaally great fight.
Very fast, non-stop and aggressive!!! Quite often MT can have a lot of pauses in action and can be a bit slow, but this type of fight is a real treat.
The only problem is that both guys fought really well, and it would be pure hell to have to judge this fight… =)
