This past weekend we had the ” Battle of the Belts show” in Bangkok, where 7 titles were on the line. I’m hoping to get most of the clips up as soon as they become available. Not sure how much promotion they put into this thing… the place looks completely empty.
Jomthong was always on the cards but my understanding is that Ozkul was a last minute replacement for Dan Beauchamp. Many thanks to Sitsongpeenong for posting these clips.

Respect for Ozkul for fighting against the best in the most difficult weight class! And always bringing his A-game.
Jomthong was just a freakin beast in this match. He outclassed Ozkul in every aspect, even boxing. Sick..

YEP! I always knew Jomthong would do well internationally, he has that style. Especially due to the fact that he does professional boxing. I feel that fighters like Sittichai, Jomthong, yodkhunpon sitmonchai and Kaew fairtex have that type of style that is effective when it comes to fighting international opponents. And if trained well and the right way I could all see them doing very well! Jomthong is about my height (5’9) or taller so if he could beef up within the next few years he could definitely take Buakaw’s place in K1 and do really well. If not him then Sittichai. For Sittichai all you need to do is to throw in a good boxing trainer and I am almost 100% he would do well.

Keep in mind that both Saketdao and Jomthong won their fights via elbow which is not allowed under K-1 rules. I agree those fighters will do well internationally, it just pains me to see boxers of their caliber doing kickboxing matches.

i`d like to see Aikpracha on international scene more, that`s a ready-made crowd pleaser there, but only full MT rules fights. Like grime, I don`t prefer to see talent muted on KB matches. Sombat did well to win and make it entertaining, just question whether some of the other guys, despite having the right ingredients, can put it together the ways he did. But, would be nice to see a few try…and will probably be the only reason i watch it at all

Yeah, the only time I care for kickboxing is when a Thai is fighting or Giorgio Petrosyan. That said Jomthong has the perfect style for it. I think he’d handle the better kickboxers at 63 kilograms.
