Jamaica Predictions & PPV

June 18th, 2008 · 19 Comments

You may have notice some posts disappearing in last day or so… I’ll explain later.

Just an FYI I’m not sending you to my affiliate link. I want to feel like a can promote this and not feel too dirty about this in the morning. So I encourage you to get the PPV. As you should all be aware by now, the Muay Thai bouts in Jamaica take place this Friday 8:30. Sweet looks like I’m going to try watching this at 2:30 in the morning

If you haven’t purchased your PPV you can do so here. I’ve purchased mine just a few minutes ago. I just spoke to the PPV people, they explained to me that you’ll have 48 hours to watch… then your computer will self destruct. Ok maybe not the last part… I wouldn’t wait too long though. I’m planning to connect my laptop to my TV an invite over some friends, all 2 of them (you know who you are).

The line up looks pretty solid the fights I’m most looking forward to in order:

JWP vs. Dzhabar

I’m most looking forward to this because I’ve never seen Diesellek in action… Dude is quite the character. Of all the Nak Muay’s I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting he is by far the most off the wall dude. I’m curious if any of that energy and bravado will find its way into the ring. I suspect it will. A wild guess here, going to give Disellek the decision. Predictions?

This one is a bit of an odd one. I’m always down to watch either of these guys fight… both of them are super explosive. I think this fight would have been a hell of a lot more interesting if Malaipet was about 8-10 years younger. I’m a huge fan of Malaipet but I don’t think he’ll be able to hang. In fact I’m predicting he gasses out and becomes a victim of Yod’s cross hook combo. I’ve got Yod by KO.

Both of these guys have been a little off their past couple of fights. Villaume is a fantastic nak muay… I think maybe the best France has to offer. That being said I think full Thai rules… I’m betting Farid is going to get cut, by one of Lamsongkram’s elbows. I asked Lamsongkram for a prediction he said ” Kow Ja juh sok na naun… He’s definitely going to meet my elbows”. I think Farid is super smooth, but I think Lamsongkram is just too strong in the clinch. I predict Farid catches an elbow in the clinch… TKO in the 3rd.

For as much shit as I’ve been talking about Kaoklai, I’m going to go against my gut and say he’s going to pull it off. I’m not quite sure when Clifton fought last. I don’t think he’s been that active. It’s kind of a home crowd for Clifton (He’s Jamaican) so he’ll have that going for him. I think Kaoklai will eek out a decision.

ahahahahaahahahah…the majority (so far) has no confidence in Kaoklai….and most (including me) think he’ll get KTFO….damn! Hope he proves us wrong though. I think Marco vs Diesel will be an amazing fight. Marco is a very long fighter though….I see Diesel having problems handling that…I’m not sure if Diesel has fought over seas but if he hasn’t, I’m quite sure he’ll find difficulties in the height disadvantage he has.

I think Clifton’s last fight was in October with Priest West for the WMC Super lightheavy belt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YRCvzcnris

Nop, I think Malaipet is only 4 years older than Yod. he is nowhere near ancient…lol. Cut the man some slack.

Also, I have yet to see Malaipet in serious trouble- but if anyone would give it to him, it would be Yod. Still, I got Yod by decision.

    Thaifan-

Thanks for the link… I think Priest could be wearing some of the ugliest shorts I’ve seen in a while.

I guess that’s wut u get when u mix the American flag and the German flag on the same pair of shorts.

im hoping for malaipet to win. see him at a lot of local events/fights. i also think people are describing him as an extreme unerdog which i dont think is the case.

    and kaoklai all the way.

Is the Germaine de Randamie / Julie Kitchen fight still on?

  • 18 spydaman // Jun 19, 2008 at 9:47 pm

Rockintako, Germaine de Randamie was in the last commercial I have seen for the Jamaica PPV event “which was broadcasted yesterday” so I’m gonna guess and say yes. She is on the island, I can tell u that much.
