So got this email the other day, it’s was “like make money today!” You can make a whole dollar for everyone who orders a PPV through you! I thought oh shit, my payday has finally come in, easy street here I come… So here I am pimping the June 20th fights in Jamaica.
In the interest of full disclosure I am getting a dollar for each sign up. The amount is so little though that I’m going to donate it to charity. In fact I’ll do a matching bid if any of you who choose to get the web ppv. For every buck I make from you guys, I’ll match it with a $2 donation from MMT.
I’m planning on getting it, if it works that’s a whole other story. I’ve been on the site and it isn’t confidence inspiring. If you go on the site, it says something like how would you rate this and the rating is in “beers”… yes beers. Because we’re all beer swilling meatheads…
Anyway anyone have a particular charity that you think we should be donating to? I know it’s isn’t going to be a whole lot of money… but it’s our intentions that count. I’d love to help the peeps in Myanmar, but I have a sneaking suspicion our donation would never make it to the ground.
Any ideas?

Doesn’t exist any kind of kid’s fund in Thailand? You could even give it “hand to hand” so…

Yes there are some orphanages I know of in Bangkok. Good call.

on second thought… I’ve been looking at this site, and it looks like such shit, I’m not sure if it’s even legit?
Before you guy buy anything, let me do a little more homework.

funds for the victims of the earthquake in China would be nice…..I haven’t yet looked at the site….I have strong suspicions (based solely on instinct…lol) that this whole Jamaica roster is nothing short of imaginary…but who knows?….I’m sure Nop will do his homework…lol.

Perhaps a charity to help out the fellow tibetan buddhists who are feeling the cultural genocide?
6 tong po // May 20, 2008 at 8:47 am
Yeah, better make sure its legit before anything. Don’t want to give any money to no “shook ones.”

The charitable donation is a very nice sentiment. You’re right be concerned about direct donations to Burma maybe not being received but I’m sure that Amnesty or an equivalent would be spent directly on aid.

I kind of like the idea of muay thai fans giving some love back to their favourite sport’s birthland.
I’m in even if that webpage turns out to be a fake.

hey fellas,
I’ve been in touch with the marketing director, and am feeling better about the whole thing. I’m going to be purchasing the PPV, still not sure if it’s going to be live… or slight delay, but does it really matter?
Here’s their vid http://www.youtube.com/muaythaijamaica
I love how Malaipetch says “Some Thai Guy” shit, i’m down with Malaipetch but damn have some respect for the champ!
10 I // May 20, 2008 at 3:26 pm
I think Malaipetch said “some Thai guy” because he probably assumes that the lady will have no idea who he is talking about even if he said Yodsanklai
11 spydaman // May 20, 2008 at 5:24 pm
I think the reason that Malaipet said “some thai guy” instead of announcing Yodseanklai might be because………Yodseanklai might not fight in that event. Maybe he was invited, but that doesn’t mean he will fight. Those promoters at SLAMM do it all the time.
I doubt that Malaipet was trying to disrespect Yod….lol…this isn’t the UFC….lmao!

I hope spydaman is not right, but on the other hand he’s sooo right.
13 spydaman // May 21, 2008 at 3:35 am
lmao…..I hope I’m not right either…..I’m all for the charity thing though…just keep us posted Nop.
14 tong po // May 21, 2008 at 9:05 am
Malaipet didn’t seem disrespectful to me. Can’t wait to see this.
15 Josh // May 21, 2008 at 10:45 am
This may seem unpopular and selfish but why don’t you keep the money Nop? I mean, I’m not saying you need it or anything but you keep this site going for us and do you get anything back? Don’t get me wrong the respect everybody shows on here is awesome and the donation is extremely noble but I come to this site religiously and I would hate to see you get nothing out of it when you have a chance to!

Josh-
Appreciate your kind words… this clearly isn’t my full time job, and I don’t do it for the loot. That being said our partners MuayThai Art, Muay Thai Stuff, Tuff, Kombat Gear, and Antarai take care of our community.
So if you want to help me out be sure to support our sponsors.
As for the PPV, what are we really going to bring in? $30 maybe? I’ll match it with $60… seriously the money is better off going to kids who’ve got ziltch.

Josh a Fair Question, Nop a good and generous gesture. Respect. And wow what a Fight, cant wait. Hope Malaipet will perform better than the last Slamm againt the German dude, But I would hope he concentrates an extra notch.
