Giorgio Petrosyan vs. Warren Stevelmans

December 3, 2008 by nopstar

Many thanks to Gusnark for taking the time to keep us entertained.  Thanks for the upload!

Anyway, I was pretty sure coming into this who the winner was going to be.Man that kid is en fuego…  I disagree with Vinny, Petrosyan best p4p in his class? Sorry… Full MT rules Yodsanklai would take it.  Don’t get me wrong I think it would be a hard fight for Yod, but I think could do it.

I’m really not sure why Max hasn’t knocked on Petrosyan’s door yet?  Now that their golden boy, Masato has gotten his belt maybe they’ll let Petrosyan have a shot.  They mentioned that he Petrosyan would be fighting Souwer next year…  I’m calling it know Souwer is going to get worked.  Petrosyan with a decisive win.

Looking forward to watching more Petrosyan!

This guy would do really well in k1.

My boy Warren put up a valliant fight but was just vastly outclassed.

I agree with the people who say that Petrosyan can beat souwer, I’m not sayin’ with ease, but Souwer doesn’t really know how to fight any other way, Petrosyan it seems can modify his gameplan to fight any foe no matter what their style is: Buakaw, Main, Stevelmans..

Agree with the guy who posted it though: on MT rules: Yod, on K-1 rules: Giorgio

Wow.. He’s such a well-rounded fighter. My 2nd favorite fighter at his weighclass after Yod.

Very nice. I still think Yod would take him out.

Stevelmanns looked scared and didnt want to engage in battle, Gevorg was solid as usual, Just saw in K-1 Fans that a Home Vid different than the one posted here, of Buakaw vs Petroysan is available, Really good quality and filmed from above the Ring. I have it too. But Yod vs Gevorg, Yod with a KO.

Stevelmans wasn’t scared, he just got frustrated because petrosyan had an answer for every move he tried to make. That’s petrosyan’s best quality I think he completely figures out his opponents style.
    That’s why he’ll beat souwer

And vs Yod: if yod fights him like he fought souwer on K-1 rules(what they probably will do if they fight) he doesn’t ko him at all and doesn’t win.

Yup, Stevelmans is awesome, but he lost fairly.
We’ll just have to await and hope that fight between Petrosyan and Souwer occurs on the 14th of March:

I think Gevorg is awesome. Top 3 in Europe for sure but to call him the absolute best 70 kg fighter and ‘unbeatable’ as the commentator said it is a little over the top.

People are just now starting to get really excited about Gevorg and as a result, maybe overlooking the ‘old guard’ like Buakaw, Yod, Souwer and most of all Chahbari. Faldir is so underrated it’s crazy. I think he didn’t deserve the win vs Orono but he has beaten some really good fighters and he is very very tricky.

I am really looking forward to seeing Gevorg’s next few fights though: he definitely belongs with the big boys and this is where we will see his best.
