Gear Review: TUFF Muay Thai Shorts

It’s the little things that count.  I was recently given a pair of Muay Thai Shorts from TUFF Muay Thai our sponsors.   It’s sort of hard to recommend muay thai shorts, because in the end you’re really just buying the design of the shorts, they’re all pretty much the same.

Ah ha! Not these… I have to say, I had actually thought about this ages ago, (not like I had the ability to make shorts) but I’m glad to see that the good people at TUFF have actually made them.

Our Muay Thai shorts probably haven’t changed in 50 years, and to be honest they don’t have to… however I think the TUFF folks have actually enhanced our beloved Muay Thai shorts.

They’ve added a liner into the shorts, which keep the shorts from clinging to you.

When I’m training in Thailand I find that it takes all of about 3 min before my shorts are glued to my thighs.   I end up hiking the trunks up, to keep them clinging.  I’m happy to report these shorts are cling free.

Also they’ve added a little pocket in the waste band for moo ping money, your mouth guard, your weed etc.

Anyway, this are my new favourite shorts, and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

If your interested you can get them here.

  1. Hi!

I know this is a very old post. I’m just wondering how this pair of TUFF shorts is holding up. Has the ironed-on Tiger on the side started to crack or peel?

I’m interested to buy one off eBay with the same design but different colour scheme, but I’m just afraid the ironed-on design will come off.
