This is a bit late getting up but Pinca’ss the champ and deserves the coverage. My Muay Thai Tours has another trip in late Oct and we’re definitely going to this. I’m looking forward to seeing him fight on the 25th at the Semi Finals in Bangkok.

For those of you new to My Muay Thai, Fabio Pinca is a legit nak muay from France. I wouldn’t say this fight is typical for him… he’s typically a much smoother fighter, with a very “Thai” style. His opponent Yokoyama who on paper shouldn’t stand much of a chance is making life difficult for Pinca. Yokoyama is pretty damn scrappy, with unorthodox timing… i’m convinced he’s got a kickboxing background, is in my opinion bringing down the quality of Pinca’s fighting. I’m someone relieved to see even that even a fighter of Pinca’s calibre can be thrown by weird an awkward fighters.

why do you think the other guy was a former kickboxer? besides his race

His movement, his timing, the spinning backfist…

I think you mean his nationality.

for real,
do nak muays not use spinning backfists? if samkor uses it its ok but if your japanese its an issue.

I’ve never trained at a Muay Thai gym or camp where we ever drilled spinning backfists…
The fact that Samkor uses it, doesn’t make it muay thai. I don’t have an issue with the guy being japanese, I just like his style of fighting…

Damn, that was an awkward fight for Pinca.

Good to see Pinca back in the ring, but ive got to give Yokohama credit, he is a tough fighter that took it to the Frenchman.
