This bout took place about a week ago on JC Skarbowsky’s Best of Siam show. This bout features WBC welterweight champion, and 2011 Thai Fight Champion Fabio Pinca, against 2012 Toyota Marathon tournament Champion, and no. 1 ranked lumpinee fighter Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong.
Sitthichai has been flying under the radar for a bit. He’s definitely being groomed to be the next star of the Sitsongpeenong. I suspect were going to be seeing a great deal of him in this year internationally. Tim, the owner of Sitsongpeenong has been patiently building Sittichai and he’s made the transition from 67-70 kg. He’s been a quite the winning streak, quietly winning his last 14 bouts. If you look at some of his scalps, it’s really quite impressive. (Petchasawin, Petchmongkon, Prakaisaeng, Sirimongkol, Samranchai, Ikusang, Singmanee, Aikpracha, Aranchai, Anuwat et al) It’s really quite shocking that he isn’t in possession of a major stadium title. I suspect that will be in the works in the very near future.
