Next time you’re in Thailand and your thinking about fucking around think twice! You may get shoved into a Takraw ball and used as the prison elephants play thing!
Wow, you know it was some sick bastard who came up with this one… you know it was some prison guards sitting around talking about what f’ed up things they could do to the inmates. “Dude, I’ve got it… this would be so messed up. Let’s make a human size tegraw ball and get one of the elephants to kick it!” His buddy shakes his head ” Nah I’ve got one better, let’s put nails into it and then let elephants kick it around!”
This exhibit is part of the Thai Prison Museuem. They’ve got some other crazy contraptions. I’m not planning on going to prison any time soon, but I’m glad that all of these things have been banned.

Is this how the early fighters trained to be so tough? Sometimes I see this type of shit and think how it might be useful to deter criminals here, and then I remember that we can just spend more money on prisons than schools.

Capital punishment doesn’t do much to deter crime. Most “crime” is a result of poverty more than anything else. Where you gonna get your crack unless you rob someone for money because you’re too doped up to get a job?
Funny picture though. It might be good for overall conditioning.

Having a job doesn’t always fix the “poverty” status of a person. Most people can’t afford to go to college…and those who are lucky enough to attend will end up spending half their life paying off their loans (Lemme also add that a “decent” job is not guaranteed upon graduation). Not every poor individual smokes crack, Not every poor individual rob others. Those torture tactics may stunt crime (a lil) among poor people, but it sure won’t do anything to put money in their pockets. The rich will always get over….lol. I’ll stop the political bullshit now ( I hate politics)….I just realized that this is neither the time nor the place…..My apologies Nopstar!

Crime is not a result of poverty IMO. Just because society is in dire straits does not always mean poverty is rampant- I think its the other way around- crime causes poverty. Criminal elements bring about more desparation and an less education, business, and possibly cohesive family unity. I mean who wants to work or invest in a crack/crime infested area. Studies have shown that much of the crime is caused by a small number of individuals. Poverty stricken areas are not full of criminals, but the criminals are the ones that make the news. I agree that the criminal justice system of punishment is not a fail safe way to deter crime, but “they” someone’s got to pay the price.
