Buakaw’s Movie Aspirations

August 28, 2009 by nopstar

Thanks to Matt for sharing this link from MuayMag.com. We did a post a few months ago about Buakaw being in the Yamada, The Samurai of Ayuddhya.  I’m still waiting for this…anyone know where they are with this?

The article confirms that Buakaw’s contract is indeed up at the end of this year, and this will most likely be his Farwell max.  I’m bummed but we all knew that was coming.

Looks like Buakaw isn’t going to be hanging up the gloves entirely though… it appears he’s looking for fights abroad and looking for more movie roles…  Nice.  I’ll support Sombat in his future endeavors… maybe they could do a remake of oh… all the kickboxer flicks?   This time Sombat teeps Van Damme in the grill for a full minute before snapping his neck.

I sure hope Buakaw leaves K-1 with a bang by winning the title!

    Kickboxer, lol.

If he’s leaving MAX I’m happy for him. Sure I will miss him there, without him won’t be the same. But would love to see him fighting under full MT rules in the future.

Seems like most of the nak muay’s enjoy traveling. Any idea of how much it would cost to get someone like Buakow, Seanchai, Yod etc… to come to the US for a seminar?

that would quite the miracle in schedules for that to happen

I mean bringing these fighters to the US 1 at a time.

unfortunately the majority of americans are too busy being fat, wearing tapout clothes and watching UFC to care about muay thai legends.

Sudan $$ I am sure. having Jongsanan every year is an endeavour for our little gym..cant imagine those guys..but hey..there are lots of former champs who are real good and would come here and train us for a much cheaper rate..thats a feasible route, dont u think

Absolutely Pad! Former champs is definitely a great option. Just curious to see how much the elite fighters charge, whether it be to fight or for a seminar. I’m assuming between $4000.00 and $8,000.00, who knows!
Hey let me know when Jongsanan comes to town.

Sudan…where’s home? Jongsanan is “in town” most of the time in San Francisco…you should be able to get a schedule of his seminars from him.

I’m in Fort-Lauderdale Florida and it doesn’t look like I’ll be traveling anytime soon; however, cisco is definitely on my radar, looks like you guys got all the goodies over there on the west coast…

JJ49… Does Jongsanan have a website?

  13. JJ49 on September 3rd, 2009 12:41 pm

http://www.fairtex.com Click on SF and you can contact him…he definately checks his e-mails. He does a good number of seminars…maybe something in your area. Doesn’t hurt to ask. Saekson (from Dallas) gets on the road quite a bit and his seminars are equally as good. http://www.saekson.com About a year and a half ago my daughter took the Greyhound to Detroit area for a seminar at Matee’s….Matee, Saekson, Samart Payakaroon, and Coban…all together for a weekend long seminar. You just gotta keep asking these guys where they will be

JJ49… Thanks for the knowledge, didn’t realize that all these legends are in my backward.
