This was part of the Thai Fight show in Bangkok.  Buakaw taking on Italy’s .  We’ve seen Serra previously when he fought Saiyok on the MPL show in Padova Italy.  Anyone takes on the Italian Muay Thai champion with 39 fights… let’s see how it turns out.

This shit really does my head in.  Does Buakaw deserve a break because he had such a crap deal with his old camp?  I guess, I honestly do feel bad that he was so mistreated in his youth… but I can’t stand watching him fight significantly inferior opponents and then having to sit through his whole chest pounding, fist pumping celebration like he’s beaten someone who’s worth a damn.  This really wasn’t intended to be a rant, but I’m tired of it.  I appreciate all that he’s done for our sport, but this is farce.

  1. every thai nak muay that ive seen is usually calm and humble for the most part, but once those same guys go on thai fight they ALWAYS act like douches….i think the thai fight promotion makes them act like idiots or they beat them or something.

  2. Thai Fight need to realize we’d like to see Thai vs Thai fights as well. Khme vs Yod is happening, so why not Buakaw facing some Thai fighter? I understand why Somrak called him out, this is ridiculous.

  3. when was the last time buakaw fought a thai fighter.. I mean a real reputable nak muay from his homeland

  4. This is like watching most mma fights. What a major downgrade.

  5. I was totally disappointed in this fight.

Buakaw is under Sport Art Co. Ltd in a contract (at least from what I’ve read), and it states that he is only allowed to fight foreigners.

They been using Buakaw as an image to parade Muay Thai to the world.

  6. that was a disgraceful beating…imo buakaw has not had a hard fight since he fought Jordan in 2010 they have all been one sided beatdowns since then

  7. Serra I expected to do much better.

  8. Buakaw can get in there with Saiyok- both big names. Also, what happened with the rematch with Petrosyan rematch?

  9. I thought Serra was doing ok there for a while, but clearly not in a the same league. I agree it feels very much like a publicity exercise as they continue to build the image of buakaw as a hero of thai fight. He also looked abit all over the place with his technique, but hey you got to please the crowd I suppose.

  10. It is tough to rant about Buakaw. Of course we want the purist Buakaw, but Thai Fight is a circus show trying to get broader market appeal (unfortunately it’s unwatchable). He is basically doing a farang parody probably because that is acting farang for farong. Surely someone in charge thinks that this is marketable as it doesn’t seem like him.
