Many thanks to Dave “Suk Jai” Fox for passing this along and of course to UPSmiles for taking the time to rip and share with us.  Loads of fight vids coming your way.  If you remember a couple of weeks ago we posted an interview with our new friend Franki Giorgi… we predicted we would be seeing Frankie in super bout finals with Buakaw.

Enough chit chat, enjoy!

  1. Somehow expexted more from Giorgi being so massive and beating Roqueni in the semis.

    • meant expected.

    • If you want me to be honest I wasn’t surprised at all! And I won’t be surprised if he beats Fabio although I think Fabio would put up a better fight. You just got to look at it realistically, yeah there is a chance in any fight that there can be an upset but just on Buakaws experience and on the variety of great fighters he has fought. He has fought much tougher opponents then Giorgi.

    • those two factors mean nothing

      • Meaning he has fought and beaten much better fighters then Giorgi and that’s why I’m not surprised. Its common sense…

        • By that same common sense it could be said that Fabio couldnt have beaten Petchmongkon in last year’s Thai Fight Semi’s?

There’s always a punchers chance, but I still think that with Frankie’s head the way it was this (still swollen) it was going to be an even tougher night in the office for him.

I really liked the way the Thai commentary team labelled this fight as “1 man fighting for love (FG) and one man fighting for country (BPP)”.

They said in the commentary Frankie’s wife was sick and he was willing to die in there to get that money. The same was said about Buakow and fighting for his country.

          • Actually to be honest I expected Fabio to beat Petchmongkon but what I didn’t expect was that Japanese dude knocking out Yodsanklai. And its true there can be surprises and that’s what makes these fights exciting.

I know people think experience with a big variety of fighters isn’t an important factor but actually in a way it is. For example, If Frankie goes in there with good boxing there is a huge chance that Buakaw has fought a fighter in K1 with better boxing skills and adapted to it. If Frankie went in with a solid clinch game there is also a chance that Buakaw has fought better clinchers and same goes for kicking, elbow and etc. Buakaw has been around and his past experiences have made him the fighter he is today. So I am not saying Frankie couldn’t knock him out or win the fight! I just said I wasn’t surprised when Buakaw won.

I didn’t mean any disrespect and didn’t know Frankie’s wife was sick. I have respect for any fighter who steps into a ring and hope his wife gets better.

  2. i just got one question, what is it that people on Sherdog are talking about?

something about that Buakaw had his feet taped under his Ankle Support?

iam really confused can someone explain this ? ( Someone that knows )

Here is the Sherdog link if anyone is interested in reading it

    http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f42/giorgi-man-beat-buakaw-1928849/

Also something why all this hate ? does Thai Fight Extreme have the same rule format as “Lumpinee,Raja etc ? or WMC?

  3. This is an interesting development. I really am bummed its not a 5 round fight. These 3 rounders make it a slug out like K1 and take away the pace and tactics

  4. Well im not really into reading at Sherdog, I check it out time to time

too much hating for my taste

and that thing about Historians post , well it kinda seems too me that it´s just hate , most things are negative ( and even if he owns Sitsongpeenong )

and still i would like to know the Rules of Thai Fight “Extreme” , i been searching around but i can´t find them

Oh well imma check this up

  5. AT any rate, I dont think it illegal to tape an ankle, lots of folks do it if they ave rolled it. UNless its plaster of paris, aka Marguerito. And taping that far down dont protect your shins that much. The lowest part dont really register any pain signals, not like the middle, on the inside blade. Ehhh its a suspect blog, but drama..hahah and us fans love de drama=)

  6. lol personally i love reading sherdog…not necessarily for the Muay Thai current events, but the arguments and shit talking in the Kickboxing section are so entertaining, plus they have quite a few knowledgeable guys on there even though they talk a lot of shit, even Rob Cox argues on there every once in a while….somehow John Wayne Parr completely avoids any arguments on there though….the sherdog fans are just vocal about their dislikes. Alot of them are also MMA fans, makes sense.

If you want just some info definitely go to MuayThaifocus, Axkickboxing, K-1fans MT section, etc.

  7. personally I just stick to MMT.=). shamless plug..lol

  8. These 3 rounders have such a fast pace. Seems ALMOST sloppy compared to the 3 rounders.

I wouldn’t mind watching a 5 round tournament. Probably would need to extend for a few days though.

  9. Ummmmm….That ring entrance was way over the hills if u ask me. Ridiculous!!! I thought I was watching a Lady Gaga concert ( and No…I have never watched a Lady Gaga’s concert but I imagine that’s how it would be). The whole movie “The Expendables” had less pyrotechnics than Buakaw’s 5 min ring entrance. Anyway….good fight, predictable decision. I’m gonna be honest though….but other than Fabio Pinca….I don’t think the competing Thais (Buakaw, Saiyok, Khem) had any real challenge whatsoever. I really hope that Thai Fight Extreme doesn’t turn Buakaw into another “Masato”.

  10. I think that, on this way (pyrotechnic galvanizing supa dupa pimping show), muay thai and first of all top thai fighters are getting the attention they deserve, even if it means to follow the “japanese” style.

oh, and i really really really love the entrance song of the thai fighters

    • no, they dont get the attention they deserve by grand entrances or any stupid promotion they get true, genuine attention by fighting the best and being/beating the best.

      • I gotta say I have to agree with SE on this one. Save the Pyrotechnics and spend the money on making proper matchups. On the same token I do take my hat off to all of the participants because they fought their heart out….and I don’t ever remember seeing Buakaw with a shut eye before.

      • by fighting the best you mean, for example, buakaw vs petrosyan (best foreigner now)? i think the people that wants to see buakaw loosing a match is the 1%
