A few months ago I did a post on the all star line up that was slated for Slamm. The other day a member of our community Souvik reported that Buakaw didn’t even know about the event. (see pic)
I did a little digging but it appears the Por.Pramuk camp did know about the fight. From what I’ve gathered Buakaw was in the originally approached to be in the event. The Buakaw fight however appears to have fell through, which is standard in the fight promotion business.

I think it’s shady that you can go to the Slamm’s site and they’re still pimping Buakaw all over their site and still have him in the line up knowing full well he won’t be there. I don’t think I’m going out on a limb by saying that he’s one of the marquee names that’s selling tickets for these guys.
Another forum post points to the fact that if you were to look at Buakaw’s schedule they’ve never had the Slamm event on their schedule. Some people are speculating that the promoters paid Por. Pramuk to use Buakaw’s name and image, others believe that the fight fell through after they started promoting the fight.
What do you guys think?

Like with many promotions I think they approached the fighter with the intention of having them fight but weren’t able to agree to terms. I think it’s a totally shady tactic because I’m sure they went in with a “low ball” offer just to get the fighter on their poster with no real intention of working hard to find a qualified opponent. I’ve seen Darren Uyenoyama on several fight posters for MMA but he’s only fought on one. Like they’re pimping his name for ticket sales.

Now, I see on Buakaw’s site it says , “On year 2007 :: Buakaw has no fight in Netherland”

ah, i stand corrected. maybe buakaw is aware of the event and what he meant was he isn’t aware of his name on the fight card.
anyway, like you said, nopstar, slamm is still pimping buakaw’s name and image on the internet and the tv ads here. they’re doing a disservice to the sport in plain sight which is little short of consumer fraud, apart from marring their own and buakaw’s reputation. i’m appalled by the fact that this same trick was pulled in france just a week ago where disgrunted fans weren’t returned their 100 Fr tickets and no one is going to do anything about it this time either!
given the straightforward denial on por pramuk’s website of buakaw’s fight in slamm (as urk points out) i’m sure slamm can be sued pretty hard pretty fast for their false advertisement on tv and their website if someone takes the initiative. if for nothing else, just to make sure people don’t exploit successful athletes of this sport like this.

they said “shin bone injury” in france.
i wonder what lie slamm will cook up for taking buakaw off the card at the last minute.

I’ve read that Slamm is known for doing that every year. U’re right..someone should sue the stuffing outta them. Dat would teach them. French people were really upset at Buakaw not fighting but a lotta them already knew b4 hand as it was publicized on the web, besides at least they had someone worthy to replace him (Yodsanklai).

[...] I’ll be sure to post them as soon as I can find them. As we had speculated in an earlier post, Buakaw was not part of the evenings [...]
