I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this, but it appears this is his only option.   and his manager and camp owner Mr. Pramuk Rojanathan, failed to reach an agreement.

The new agreement was for Buakaw to split winning with his camp 60/40 and 75/25 for appearances outside of the ring.  Buakaw’s lawyers argued that he should receive 100% of the earnings outside of the ring, as he doesn’t have that many fights left in him.

Buakaw has done a lot for our sport, and it’s a shame that he had to retire under these circumstances.  I’m certain he’ll land on his feet.  I’m sure there are plenty of people who are lined up to train at his new camp.

Apparently on announcing his retirement, the Mr. Pramuk and his son broke into applause that lasted several mins. Classy…

Quote from the Banchmek gym Facebook page

The Deputy Governor of the SAT said that “it is most regrettable that an agreement could not be reached, & that things had to end this way. He said that it is bad for Thailand’s image that Mr. Pramuk & Mr. Teeraphat had clapped happily when Buakaw said that he would retire & not continue to fight & achieve success for the nation.”

Thanks for the fights, thanks for representing Thailand and Muay Thai!  Best of luck to you!

  1. Por Pramuk has done it again! After Namsaknoi, they succeeded in destroying yet another succesful and prosperous career. Which fighter will be next?

  2. Por Pramuk are retarded. Their foreign traffic to the camp is going to dwindle and or stagnate now and they lost their big cash cow. If they had stayed on good terms with Buakaw they might have made more money.

I gotta respect Buakaw for retiring, its sad, but sometimes the only thing to do when you’re playing a rigged game is to walk off the playing field.

  3. All the best to Buakaw and his new camp.

Time for someone else to step up. Saiyok’s my man!!

  4. When I read the title “Breaking: Buakaw Announces His Retirement” my heart imploded…..I was very afraid to click on the post to read about it….I was very afraid to click on the video to see it with my own eyes….and hearing it straight from the white lotus mouth just completely messed up my whole day which had started sooooo well. I admittedly started as a Buakaw nutthugger (yes…I said it)….but throughout the years my appreciation for him kinda descended along with his K1 career……He had fallen from being ranked as my #1 Muay Thai fighter to being placed in my top 5…but now I’m being reminded of a saying ” U dunno what you’ve got til it’s gone” and now that Buakaw is no longer fighting, I realize how much I will miss him. I know, I’m talking as if Buakaw had left this earth for the heavens but it has to be understood that Buakaw really cemented my love for Muay Thai….and if it wasn’t for him a lotta ppl would still be wondering what Muay Thai is….Japanese ppl would not have realized that an average Muay Thai fighter could come to their K1 organization and decimate the best they had to offer. Buakaw, I hope u come back in the ring…..I hope u pull the same fake retirements stunts as Jay Z, LL Cool J, Michael Jordan and Brett Favre. Either way, you are appreciated. No homo!

    • I`m with you spydie, sad but sometimes you gotta know when to call it. I wonder how the loopholes go with other promotions internationally; although I think he risks getting sued in thailand At any rate, any camp Lotus is in will make serious Euros and dollars. I am wondering if he already has some semblance of a gig lined up..
Wish him best of luck. if anyone can buck the system and ride out..its him

  5. So wait, he can’t fight in thailand and won’t register as a boxer there, but he can still fight internationally if we wanted to right? How can they enforce that he can’t fight anywhere?

  6. por pramuk should be ashamed of themselves. Thier behaviour is nothing short of disgusting. Just to think of that name now makes me want to vomit. por pramuk maybe enjoyed the limelight during buakaws career but now thier name has come to ruin and the only thing will be remembered for is thier greed and disgusting way they treated a much loved and respected fighter. Buakaw will be missed and never forgotten by his many fans and peers from alll over the world

  7. Maybe I would not add this if it weren’t for the class-less fucktard attitude and clapping.. but seriously, those owners can go suck a fat D.

Of course, all this does not stop them from pimping Buakaw and his image everywhere. Fucking scavengers. Perhaps they need to hear how people feel on their website:

    Have at it peeps.

    • Good idea… not that it makes any difference but it felt somewhat satisfying writing this in the vain hope that someone over there might read it.

Por Pramuk has behaved disgracefully and brought shame to a nation and to a sport in their conduct with Buakaw and the management of his career. It has been known to all those with any real knowledge of the Muay Thai circuit, the levels of corruption, of abusive behaviour and unscrupulous tactics employed by the Por Pramuk gym. Buakaw on the other hand, has conducted himself with great dignity and pride. He captured the imagination of a generation of fighters and advanced the sport of Muay Thai internationally more than any other person. He will be remembered for these achievements, and for his conduct and humility. The Por Pramuk name is however, forever tarnished – thugs, gangsters, criminals. You are the lowest of the low and this is how you’ll be remembered.

  8. Yeah Spyda im with you on this!! Couldt have put it clearer!! :(

  9. fuck mma.

    hes back.
