Boxing With A Kick

I always appreciate it when you guys forward me interesting articles and clips. This one is from Matt, I decided to cut and past the actual email he sent as it’s perfect as is.
“Sometimes when I’m box sparring I’m doing alright, I’m parrying, throwing good combinations, using my footwork. Most of the time though I’m eating some assholes knuckles. Bang! Bang! Bang! straight in my grill. Its moments like those when my tendency to kick a fool comes out. Its not just me that has those tendencies now either. Peep below.

Hilarious, and also sad.”

people need to learn about thais tempers. and to not fuck with them doing cheap shit whilst in the ring.
Well, he took a giant dump on his own career. Pure genius.
I don’t think it has anything to do with the “thais temper”, anyone who thinks their opponent is throwing cheap shots is going to get pissed and then get even. On the flip side, with having so many fights and a hectic schedule and being in an 11 round boxing match I can see how you may throw an unintentional muay thai strike just from instinct and muscle memory.
sicenceoflimbs…I understand what you are sayin about the “instinct and muscle memory” but a high kick????…..I think he did that purposely…..people accidentally throw elbows….and though I have been known to accidentally put my lead leg up ( as to block a low kick) or catching an opponent in a full clinch while sparring I don’t know if I can’t believe the accidental “high kick.”
He did mention in his first article that his opponent was purposely headbutted him “a common practice in Boxing” so I understand his behavior but as someone mentioned it before he might have just ” took a giant dump on his own career”.
His manager’s even considering it.
“”I am confident that Ratanachai is willing to examine himself [regarding the kick]. But the man did not break any law, and he has a family to feed. He succumbed to impluse and now he is seen by the society as wrongdoer,” said Kokiet.
“Ratanachai is not a top boxer under me, so there would be no problem if he had to quit boxing for the rest of life. I would like to ask everyone to help judge whether he should quit boxing for good after the six-month suspension.” “
he is my hero
im infamous for slipping in some accidental kicks during some boxing sparring.. oops :-O It’s so hard NOT to throw them, after some solid combos it’s almost natural. I havent seen the fight but i feel for the dude if he truly didn’t mean it. shit happens.
While I understand the instinct to throw on instinct, I have to cry BS on an ‘accidental’ high kick. I have not seen the fight, but if that high kick was the only MT technique he threw / attempted ‘accidentally’ then I call BS.
Remember when Evander Holyfield was head butting Tyson so Tyson bit off part of his ear? Haha. Perhaps referees should do their jobs better and the fighters won’t have to take matters into their own hands.
You know refs sucking at their job doesn’t really give you the approval to break more rules.
I agree with the comments frm xamarceaux. If the refs do their job perfectly then these issues can be avoided atleast 80%. I havent seen this fight but if u take the tyson-holyfield fight holyfield was the one to headbutt first and he didn’t get any warnings frm the ref despite of tyson complaining for the 2 times. So tyson did wht he had done. Obviously any fighter in tyson’s situation wud hve done that. And besides if the match had continued Tyson wud hve surely ko’ed holyfield’s ass to the mat.
If Ratanachai’s was in the same position as tyson on tht match then surely wht he’d done is right.
Anyone has footage of this?
