Some of you may heard Bovy was just in Japan taking part in a Shootboxing event last Friday. Props to MikeL of the K-1 Fans forum for posting these pics. I can’t wait to see this, from the snaps it looks to be in typical Bovy war. I think pics say it all. BTW can you submit people in Shooto?
Big thanks to Christophe for sending this and taking the time to upload!

that’s gonna hurt (lovin Bovy’s shorts!)

crack that shell
Standing armbar?

gettin schooled in Bovy 101

Damn, Bovy=intensity.
Can u imagine being his padholder/sparring mate..Like him or not..my impression is a guy who goes from o to 100%..no in between.
September 7, 2009 at 10:43 am
Hey Nop!
I gotta confess, initially I thought your picture captions were kinda lame. Then when I got to the last 2 pics with the “!” and “Oiyeee!”, I thought you’re just hilarious!
Great pics! The ref looks amused with that down-the-toilet dumping Bovy did on Shishido.
Bovy sure looks like one of them mafia kings driving a BMW lol
September 7, 2009 at 3:30 pm
What’s up Nop? I love the title of this post…
Pictures look awesome, hopefully we get to see this fight.
September 7, 2009 at 5:33 pm
Great pics with a great title! Haha, the pictures make it look like a really one-sided affair…
September 7, 2009 at 8:20 pm
Why does Bovy look like he wants to disembowel his opponent? That armbar look fuckin’ painful!
WAR Bovy!
September 8, 2009 at 7:03 am
not sure if this has been posted before but i found this little highlight clip of anuwat vs bovy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoyJHF0Qipg
not sure how long ago but it looks fairly old. i’d like to see a rematch now.
September 8, 2009 at 4:19 pm
Have anyone seen this fight? It’s always entertaining to see Bovy in action!
September 8, 2009 at 9:30 pm
I love this guy! Is there elbows in Shooto?
September 8, 2009 at 10:59 pm
shit man, judging by the anuwat v bovy clip, it appears bovy never used defense through his whole career it seems like. is it some kind of pride thing when he purposely takes a million punches to the face?
September 8, 2009 at 11:00 pm
if you got in a street fight with bovy after hes had some tequila it would probably be best to shoot him
September 9, 2009 at 4:07 pm
that`s why I would give him sangsom and watch him pass out after flirting with the ladyboys
September 10, 2009 at 9:32 pm
bovy vs. anuwat unlikely now that they are both at kaewsamrit. he is a devastating fighter, though, wherever he’s at. he’s fought everyone who’s anyone.
September 10, 2009 at 9:36 pm
looks like christophe pruvost from japan put it up on youtube! thanks, man!

Part 2

Bovy really comes alive in part 2. Anytime I get tired or hurt, I just ask myself “what would Bovy do?” haha
September 14, 2009 at 1:43 am
the body slam was epic. bovy was in true warrior fashion with a constant forward march absorbing all the tiny japanese hits. awesome awesome fight. bovy’s answer to his armbar was awesome as well.
September 14, 2009 at 9:53 pm
I’ve decided to give Bovy front page status again, as I don’t think a lot of people have realized that we were lucky enough to get footage of this fight. Such a ugly yet satisfying fight.
I think for x-mas I would like to give Bovy the gift of head movement… It pains me each time I see him eat a couple of dozen.
You could almost feel the rage in him as Shishido side steps and teeps Bovy at will. I think the point where Bovy stepped up his stalking is when Shishido lands a clean teep to Bovy’s grill.
You think it’s too late for Bovy to work on his head movement?
September 14, 2009 at 11:08 pm
pls,. having a kevin ross article hanging over bovys is a grave injustice
September 14, 2009 at 11:59 pm
The gift of head movement?! HAHAHAHAHHA
September 15, 2009 at 2:54 am
Guys Bovy has got to be one of the worst nak muay’s ever
September 15, 2009 at 7:00 am
BOVY is one of my favorites. he makes the most epic battles fight after fight. his fights always stand out on whatever card hes on. he rules, basically.
September 15, 2009 at 10:03 am
Hi Nate,
Hes still ranked in the top 10 in Thailand and at Rajadamnern stadium.
September 15, 2009 at 5:52 pm
thanks for the upload…
i like the way Bovy Knocks the other guy out picks him up and takes him back to his corner.

Head movement FTW, Bovy!
September 15, 2009 at 6:07 pm
bovy one of the worst nakmuay ever? are you kidding, wtf?
September 15, 2009 at 8:55 pm
get the rope…
September 15, 2009 at 9:23 pm
nate…
I’m afraid when we eventually meet, I will have to deliver a judo chop to your neck.
September 15, 2009 at 10:35 pm
then a falcon punch followed by a bruce lee headlock kick to the face.
September 15, 2009 at 10:37 pm
bovy is a beast and i like to watch him fight but in some way i can understand nate.
i mean the damage he takes in order to win is a bit unbalanced or call it unhealthy, well but i am not the one to question his style of fighting
September 15, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Bovy is what he is, you can punch, kick, knee him, you name it, but he can take it. That’s why he always marches forward. If he’s that tough, then why not. Only a couple guys can KO him, like Anuwat, who is top of the top of the elite top of the elite…
September 16, 2009 at 1:15 am
anuwat beastalized him….i think thats what gave bovy his powers.
September 16, 2009 at 3:07 am
What is this! my roasting? I thought more of you would agree with me. Bovy is a one dimensional fighter all he ever does is eat punches to get in close, there is little to no defense in his strategy. This fight is a good example!, if Bovy had a little bit of boxing defense most of Shishido’s straight punches could have been defended, but instead they found Bovy’s face. Even Bovy’s kick defense was weak if none existent, let me start by asking you guys a question, how many times do you see thai boxers land pata-loom pak on each other? …..let me answer that for y’all hardly ever. Shishido landed 1 and then a triple! pata-loom pak (which I’ve never seen) in the first round, in the second round he land a pata-loom pak + cross combination (which I have also never seen). WTF, for Shishido to land that many pata-loom pak’s (5 in total) on Bovy who is ranked in Lumpinee says something Shishido. So who is Shishido? ..truthfully I don’t know, I don’t even know if his name really is Shishido I’m just going of the information horc00 gave at the beginning of this post. In reality I don’t care to know who Shishido is, to me he looks like a wanna be Andy Souwer. So, because Bovy never changes his retarded strategy and in combination with making wannabe Andy Souwers look good, Bovy gots to be one of the worst nak muays ever. Also the continued accumulation of undefended punches to Bovy’s cranium, is further affecting his performance in the ring, Bovy’s getting easier to get punch drunk making him a even crappier fighter, example look at end of the 3rd round.
September 16, 2009 at 4:48 am
LOOK EVERYONE NATEMUAYTHAI “MASTER” USED A THAI PHRASE!!!! HE MUST BE RIGHT!!!! you think any of those jap punches hurt him? you think bovy gave two shits about those weak ass spinning backfists that japs pump out allday? maybe his strategy is to let the other fighter get comfortable and start telegraphing so he can smash their face in eventually. you dont know any of this shit or how hes won a shitload of his fights. kind of crazy how he wins so much by being ‘the worst nak muay ever’ isnt it?
September 16, 2009 at 6:42 am
He’s not graceful, sure.
But he is a tough mother f*cker, I’m not sure people realise quite how tough.
That, his stamina and his heart are the reasons he has beaten some of the best and why he’s still ranked.
Shishido is an accomlished fighter and a shoot boxing champion several times, and he got made to look like a GIRL.
September 16, 2009 at 7:24 am
se-
don’t be a dick…
September 16, 2009 at 9:02 am
well a simple strategy there, show the opponent that he can’t hurt you with anything he has to offer and then tear him apart (quite scary).
as long as this works for him he should stick with it, but i doubt that it leaves him unaffected
September 16, 2009 at 5:02 pm
banana128 has a point.
Nate, Bovy is not one dimensional fighter, he’s not as technical as some MT fighters for sure. He has a simple strategy, as already said, using punches, low kicks and knees to effect.
Does anyone know what’s Bovy record?
September 16, 2009 at 8:46 pm
The results speak for themselves here. For that reason, Bovy can’t be the worst nak muay ever. I’m pretty sure that comment wasn’t even meant 100% literally.
That being said, I don’t think anybody here is going to show this clip to some student and say ‘fight like this guy.’ I think ‘the gift of head movement’ is quite apt. I seriously become concerned for fighters who repeatedly take blows to the head.
September 16, 2009 at 9:21 pm
nate, you are so off base with bovy. he’s at the end of his career now. he’s fought – and has beaten – a who’s who in muaythai, so respect that. he’s definitely a hall-of-famer, so for you to call him the “worst” nakmuay ever is pretty ignorant.
September 17, 2009 at 3:12 am
I have seen video of Bovy fight in his earlier days and he was better. Bovy has beaten some pretty damn good competitors and that says alot. buuface is right, he is one tough mother F%$# and he has heart. You guys are right! Bovy is not the worst nak muay ever, so let me go back to my original comment, Bovy has got to be one of the worst nak muay’s ever!. HairyPalmz I see your point, Bovy has been competing for a long time and is on his way out. However I see other nak muays who have been fighting just as long as Bovy if not longer, still cashing checks and snappin necks; such as Anuwat, Seanchai, Buakaw. I’m not convinced that Bovy is any good, I am convinced that Bovy has a rock skull. Oh yeah and SE (whaeverthafukthatmeans) if you need help with THAI PHRASES come see me, I’ll show you all about THAI PHRASES.
September 17, 2009 at 12:43 pm
With all due respect, Bovy looked clumsy and slow with his punches. And his defence is very slack. He can take punches from ShiShido because he hits like a girl. And Bovy hardly kicked in the whole fight, which is a bit unusual for a Nak Muay.
All in, Bovy was more than a match for Shishido. He could just waltz in, take whatever was thrown at him and throw haymakers till he connects with a good one. Plus a bit of WWE moves in between :)
September 17, 2009 at 3:58 pm
i see why everyone rags on you, nate. you don’t know anything about muaythai.
nop, your site is becoming inundated with assholes like se and nate.
September 17, 2009 at 4:14 pm
get over it, we are in the internet where everybody acts like he feels or wants to be and calling them assholes doesn’t make you sound better either.
argumentations like these leads to nothing than pissing each other off
September 17, 2009 at 6:04 pm
i’m telling nop so he can clean house.
September 17, 2009 at 6:42 pm
He maybe short-sighted… not able to see punches coming to his face and got to fight this way!
September 17, 2009 at 10:33 pm
haha that would be quite funny : P
September 18, 2009 at 3:31 am
Hell u guys are brave. I have never met Bovy..but after seeing his pics and vids….I am scared shitless of him..he is like a Thai serial killer. They should put him in Thai army so he can get to blow shit up. I fear if I even engage in this debate that I will wake up on one sunny morning and when I open my front door, there will be Bovy, fresh off the plane, gloves on..just staring me down before an ass wuppin.
September 18, 2009 at 3:45 am
ps..
Bovy is a juggernaut..Like Yods w/o the great boxing defense and famous high left .
In my mind, you dont he used what he could to win…if it was hands heavy..thats what he needed. In fact Bovy kinda looked bored at first…8 limbs dont mean you have to use all.
After flooring him (wow that was rough) Bovy lifted the guy..then took him to his corner. Hey, thatt`s sportsmanship, thats respect for your opponent for honouring you with a fight..thats muay thai.
Like him or not..he has a unique style…we should just enjoy watching it instead of picking it apart
September 18, 2009 at 5:23 am
its a kind gesture no doubt but 99% of the time you can see the loser like ‘put me the fuck down im not your 5 yr old son.’
its intentions are good but its kind of demeaning.
September 18, 2009 at 8:04 am
I would just like to post this link for everyone who hasnt seen it

Rob Cox informed me on his site that these two fellas had a rematch more recently and Bovy won by KO in the first round…
September 18, 2009 at 11:39 am
when stepping in the ring with bovy you should be aware of what is awaiting you.
it seems that the japanese dude forgot to do his homework or overestimated himselfe, no wonder he messed up.
he can be glad to made it up to the 5th round and collecting some air miles : P
