Biker Gangs & MuayThai

This is probably the worst brawl I’ve ever seen caught on tape. I found this vid via JWP.
The video is from ’06 and it looks like it’s at one of the evo events. I guess the lesson of this story is… if you know two rival biker gangs are showing up to the event, you get a metal detector, use plastic silverware, and hire a few SWAT teams as security. I don’t care how good the fights are… even if it was Buakaw v Yod, I’m not getting a water glass smashed into my grill.
Apparently someone was shot and in the face and killed at this event. I was at a MuayThai fight at San Pablo Casino back in ’99 when all hell broke loose. My buddy John and I broke the hell out of there as the chairs started flying.
This though… is effing nuts. I can’t believe they’ve got ringside shots? There had to be cameraman shitting his pants in the ring or the cameras were remotely controlled.
There was another brawl from back in the day that I posted ages ago… that was nothing compared to the havoc bikers can wreak. In Thailand you might get shot by a gangster but you would have to have been trying. No real gangs per se… a likely scenario is that you’ll bump into the son of the police chief. Still fairly difficult as you would have to have slipped passed his body guards.

that was crazy!! biker gangs have been eclipsed lately by the street types, but they don’t fuck around…hell’s angels apparently have zero tolerance for challenges/disrespect…
i was at lumpini one time and a tourist was “having fun” betting, then decided he wouldn’t pay up after…so much for “sanuk”

A lot of gangs these days are getting into martial arts. I study in New Zealand and my local muaythai gym is dominated by local gang members. In fact the current cruiser weight champ is a gang leader. The future of muay thai here in NZ is certainly worrying…. im sure its similar in Aussie?
This was all over the news a few years ago. Some guy defected from the HA’s to the finks, and did some dodgy shit in the process. He was at the show, and so were some of his disgruntled former associates.
I dont think anyone was killed but 2 people, including the promoter got shot.
For quite a while after this, it ws very hard for fight promoters to lease venue’s as a result.
Bikie’s are not a big prt of the Thai Boxing scene down unda, but im sure there are a few club members who train or support gyms.But Gang attitude or drama’s are not tolerated.

I think this was the after effect of Buakaw being cheated by Japanese judges for the one millionth time. Riots!
was in a club in London, new years some dude got shot that was a few years away from me! You can imagine the club clearing out pretty quick and the drama going on! This reminded me of that! Mad!
