Back in the Saddle Again

January 15, 2008 by nopstar

I came across this little bit of news today. I guess the rumors of Buakaws departure from MAX were greatly exaggerated. The White Lotus is slated to fight Takayuki Kohiruimaki in super fight at next months K-1 MAX Japan Tournament. Buakaw is stepping in for an injured Yoshihiro Sato.

The tournament is on Feb 2nd, in addition to Buakaw and Kohi, Artur Kyshenko is also on the bill. I’m pretty sure they last time Buakaw and Kohi fought was back in 2004. I can’t believe it’s been that long…

I’m not really sure what to expect from this one, I’m curious if Buakaw in a good head space. I’m trying to be objective about it, but I don’t see Kohi getting past Buakaw.

Buakaw will destroy him even worse if he uses both his kicks and boxing. Good to know Kyshenko is still in it.

Arrrgghghhhhhh, can’t wait to see Buakaw in action!

“Buakaw is stepping in for an injured Yoshihiro Sato.”
K-1 official site is saying there will be match between Buakaw vs Sato:

So, are you actually suggesting that Kohi will replace Sato?

Kohi is probably going to get destroyed. I hope he at least makes this match competitive!

man, i was freaking out cause i thought i’d never see Buakaw fight in MAX anymore. Kohi has been losing like no other in the past few years, hopefully he wont pull out a lucky punch or kick outta his ass

Well since they change the rules on clinching and knees, it might be a bit more competitive, but I don’t think Kohi can punch or kick with anywhere near the crispness that Buakaw can.

BTW…I’m not sure if anyone noticed but it seems that Buakaw is no longer training with Por Pramuk…or is there a typo on http://www.k-1.co.jp/k-1gp/top822.htm ????????

    Exactly Rockintako.
He is still Buakaw Por Pramuk. That means he’s still fighting for Por Pramuk gym.

K-1 site is known for make such mistakes. Pretty crappy site if you ask me. I’m sure, there are other mistakes on the link Spydaman sent.
