I don’t know why but initially I wasn’t expecting much from this bout. I had seen Pinca in action in LA and thought he looked good then. I’ve seen very little of Attachai in action. I know Attachai was maybe still is a Lumpini Stadium Champ. Prior to Fairtex he was with Samranchai Camp and Chai-Yai gym in Chiang Mai.
I didn’t think this fight was going to get so personal. Did you guys notice the knees? 90% were “Chaw Yang” “Puncturing tires” aka dead legs… I think Pinca started it. I can’t think of too much else which would get me as worked up as knees to my thighs.
I don’t know what happened to Pinca in the 4th round maybe he gassed but there was all kinds of ownage in that round. How’d you like the rockyesque body shots on Pinca? I think he rattled of 9 shots to the body completely unchecked. His right cross to the body reminds me a little of Yod…
I kind of felt bad for Pinca in the 5th… clearly all he wanted was to just sweep Attachai just once before the bout ended. It’s got to be so frustrating to fight someone with such superior balance and timing. I saw bits of Sanchai in the beginning with the jumping teep and foot shuffling. I think Attachai may have a Mae Mai Muay Thai or Muay Chaiya background… can anyone back that up?
What you guys think?

Nopstar thanks for putting this up, you da man!!!!
That was a great exhibition of Muay Thai, loved this fight from start to finish….
Hilarious at the end all Fabio Pinca wanted to was to put Attachai on the floor, redeem himself a little bit..
Did Anuwat also fight at this event???

It will take some time as I’m going to have to split the videos… I’ll try getting something up soon.

Pinca was doing ok in the beginning, but Attachai started outworking him in rounds 4 and 5, especially 5. Basically, he had his way in round 5. Attachai did show a cool jumping footjab in round 1.
June 25, 2008 at 1:00 am
Nopstar, if you haven’t already, you should really look up more of Attachai’s fights – the guy is simply amazing, one of my favorites. He’s not in top form these days but still ranked 10th at Lumpini in the 135lbs group and still a wickedly gifted fighter.
I’ve put up a few on Dailymotion and there is more on YouTube, obviously.
June 25, 2008 at 2:11 am
your right nope Attachai’s left cross looks alot like Yodsenklai’s, and tong po thats a jumping rear teep if i’m not mistaken
June 25, 2008 at 5:56 am
body blow!
body blow!
body blow!
June 25, 2008 at 8:14 am
Yods left to the body looks like Attachais!….peep th eold videos of Attachai, especially the show in Vegas(2000), he put Kamel Jamel on the floor with that body shot
Pinca…..he looked so frustrated towards the end…then when the decision was announced, he looked a bit disgusted….did he actually think that he won?
June 25, 2008 at 5:14 pm
any news on the Anuwat fight upload on the same bill? thanks
June 25, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Haqq
Welcome to MMT.
I could tell you who won… for what ever reason the station decieded not to show the fight…
June 26, 2008 at 4:18 pm
The commentator said that Mourad Sari was the first European (not of asian decent) to have been a Lumpini champion in 1999. How true is that?? Other than that flaky comment the commentators actually sounded like they knew what they were talkin about (For a change).
They also mentioned that Fabio actually trained in L.A to up his conditioning.
Oh and JLB is fighting Semmy Shilt for the HW K1 belt on the 29th ( I don’t particularly care, but it’s for those who might do…lol)

Hey guys, I’m just curious why Attachai took off his ankle supports I think in the 4th. There have been a couple of fights I’ve seen where they take them off in later rounds.
June 27, 2008 at 7:23 am
andylee-
My guess, looks like there is some slippage in the center of the ring. Especially when your ankle supports soak up all your sweat.
Also as that thing gets wet, it ads weight. The weight though is more psychological… kind of like hiking up your shorts.
June 27, 2008 at 10:00 am
spydaman – it’s true about Sari. Not sure but I think the only other foreigners to win stadium belts were Fujiwara (30 years ago) and Takeda (Radja belt)
It’s got to be said that some deserving fighters never get a shot. Somluck Kamsing for ex.
June 27, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Colargol. Thanx for clarifying, I was a lil iffy about that. It just sounded strange. Mourad is more known for Kickboxing than anything else (Watch his fight vs BUAKAW). I never really liked his style much but he did get the job done, like Dida Diafat.
