Hey everyone. I have been MIA these past couple months. I managed to sustain an injury to my knee during one of my fights. A busted knee means no fights, and no fights means no money, and having no money in Thailand kinda sucks. So I am back home in California for a few months to let my knee heal up.
My friend Yilen from the “Ask A Fighter” series on YouTube came up with an idea to take a Muay Thai Road Trip. So basically we have been driving from Southern California all the way to Florida and making stops along the way to train at and highlight different Muay Thai Camps.
We are on the return leg of our trip and decided we should get our asses to Las Vegas, NV to catch up with Kevin Ross in his last days of training before he heads out to make history in American Muay Thai. For those of you living under a rock, Kevin Ross is scheduled to fight Saenchai SinbiMuayThai at the Commerce Casino on Sunday, August 14th, 2011 for Stand Up Promotions “M1 Grand Muay Thai Championship.” Saenchai is arguably the current pound for pound number 1 Nak Muay in the WORLD. This is definitely going to be the biggest fight of Kevin’s career so far.
So we hauled ass driving straight from Austin, Tx to Las Vegas, Nv and made it in about 21 hours. The whole Ask A Fighter crew was tired as hell but we made it to Throwdown Training Center and got in a few words with Kevin Ross. Check it out…
Also, if any of you guys from the MMT community make it out the the fights this weekend please don’t hesitate to come say hi to us. You will be seeing us running around with the cameras.
Please help out my friend and check out and subscribe to his channel.

I feel like after kevin fights saenchai he’s probably gonna fight yilen!! I think if Yilen was a pokemon he would be Ijustgotmyasskickedachu!!! HA!
August 12, 2011 at 11:30 am
kevin needs to watch his back… Yilen has basically put him in mortal danger by comparing him to Chuck…
August 12, 2011 at 1:31 pm
What a fuckin weirdo this interviewer is.
August 12, 2011 at 9:03 pm
You’re mean.
August 12, 2011 at 3:56 pm
OK………………This was the strangest interview ever!!! Pokemon? Chuck Norris? Fonz? Cool Walk outs? Humph!
August 12, 2011 at 3:56 pm
yeah got to say, I actually think Id have prefered a more serious interview with Kevin Ross. This was pretty pointless. As a matter of interest it showed some footage of KR training, is there any other footage of him training, hitting pads etc?

Damn… tough audience. I liked it… nice departure from the norm.
August 12, 2011 at 8:16 pm
it was way off base
August 12, 2011 at 7:00 pm
Haha, yeah man… Tough crowd. Everyone else is doing the normal serious interviews, and asking the same questions. Yilen and his Ask A Fighter series is to Muay Thai what Steven Colbert and the Colbert Report is to news.
August 12, 2011 at 7:50 pm
I liked it. You can see Kevin figured it’d be a normal interview and was prepared with his statements. Yilen threw him for a loop with his random questions. I’m bummed that he didn’t compare Kevin to Steven Seagal though. Ha! Also I don’t think we should take ourselves that seriously. Muay Thai is a sport, a game, and games should be fun.

Loved it!!!

There was a post that said saenchai was out and Saiyok was in. Who is Kevin fighting?
August 12, 2011 at 11:12 pm
That was a different promotion. Saenchai is fighting Kevin.
August 13, 2011 at 3:55 pm
Thanks Ryukyu.

Nakmeezy….hope Im not intruding. Saiyok is replacing Saenchai in the MPL league.

many sticks up many butts.
this was a nice break from regular interviews. i’d have to say award for best person to interview goes to joe schilling, never a dull interview with that guy.

I thinnk the interview was actually refreshing and pretty funny. Even if you dont think it’s funny it does’nt make the interviewer weird etc. While I appreciate the humor,I would have like a little more substance and a little less comedy. Kevin seemed liked he was trying to be a good sport about it but to me it seemed like he was getting a tad bit annoyed(pokemon) this is totally understandable since it’s game time for Kev and he is fighting Saenchai. The interviewer could’ve been a tad more intuitive and switched to a more serious type of interview. My Ten cents.
Chok Dee Kevin!
August 13, 2011 at 8:03 pm
kevin was probably thinking in a perfect world, he would be able to just slam his shin into dudes face and end the ‘interview’. i would have enjoyed watching that rather than a whole interview based on a fucking pokemon ‘joke’.
August 13, 2011 at 8:17 pm
It a matter of expectations. With the US fight of the year looming I think all of us were excited to see this topic and wanted to really see what was going on in his head. How do you overcome your mind when fighting an idol? those kind of questions.
It was funny..caught me off guard=); but maybe next time balance it with some in depth things, give us comedy and drama. Gives you different interview options in case one line of questioning goes awol and you start to lose your subect`s interest
Either way, thanks for the efforts and keep em coming

perfectly put!

^^ Y SO SRS?
August 15, 2011 at 6:33 pm
Ya, it was a bit off base but fkn funny.. Not everything has to be so serious. Kevin’s reactions to the questions were priceless hahaha Shows he has a sense of humor to play along..
August 16, 2011 at 6:15 am
All I’m saying is considering the fact that Kevin was gettin ready for the fight of his life….I’m sure he was expecting (so was I) a much different approach to that interview. I’m all for fun and all that, but this was way off base. I mean the guys asked Kevin a Pokemon question, Kevin replied with “I don’t watch that stuff”…and dude is gonna base his next question on….. Pokemon again?? Yo can see the aggravation on Kevin’s facial expression (unless I’m reading it wrong). Of course that’s my opinion and I respect those who thought it was funny and I hope I didn’t come out like a jerk but it just didn’t do it for me. I think it was just bad timing (and pointless) for this kind of interview. I guess this is one of those LOVE it or HATE it deal and I didn’t love it.
August 16, 2011 at 2:12 pm
The interviewer tries too hard.
It’s an Ali G – meets – Pauly Shore style interview.
Kind of cool, sure, but done better long ago,
August 16, 2011 at 4:02 pm
Wow… Over analyze much?
August 16, 2011 at 4:10 pm
I don’t wanna hurt the guy’s feelings but it’s a piss poor interview.
August 16, 2011 at 9:14 pm
