    And the much awaited final:

The sound is a little off in the semi finals, but it worked for me.

  5. Rnd1 – BPP. Teeps, kicks, throws, dominance of Andy in the grapple (creating space and throwing effective knees). General ownership by BPP.

Rnd2 – I think BPP as scored officially? I cant comment as the FEG cut it right? Either show the whole fight, or not at all.

Rnd3 – Close, but I still give it to BPP. AS is all aggressive like a school yard bully, but it does not amount to much. I think BPP was docked a point in this round for holding. I think that’s why he lost the round.

Rnd4 – It should have not gone this far if they had scored round 1 correctly. AS giving it high work rate and aggression again but i don’t see many clear shots from him. Id have to watch a better quality vid to be sure. BPP – kicks, knees, throws, a few punches (on the guard to be fair). I score it BPP.

Conclusion – What were the judges watching in round1? It seems again the bias is on all out aggression and trying to use punches, if they land or not. AS looked ugly, 1 dimensional but very busy. It seems they score the knees from AS to the leg in round4, but none of BPP’s in the entire fight.

Buakauw was on song here, kicks (un-answered), throws, throws+knees, teeps (AS totally off balance), sweeps (AS off his feet), ring movement and economy. Non reliance on boxing loses the fight.

  6. Sorry everyone – was to eager and did not think about spoilers. Cant we edit comments?

  7. …….all i can say is Wtf, after seeing that fight i cant say ill be watching much more K1 from here on very disappointed but i suppose i should’ve come to expect as much from the japanese judges

  8. Nick1_S, you sir, are a jerk.

not the outcome i was expecting.

  9. saw it live. it was a joke. souwer was clinching yet the ref only cautioned buakaw. when buakaw stopped clinching, souwer didnt stop, hence buakaw continued. joke.

btw jap ref said: buakaw, plomb mai dai na.

  10. Do you think the ref knows how to say “Souwer, stop your bitching and just fight” ? That would be nice.

  11. That was a bs decision for Buakaw. Too much crying by Souwer. He really was trying to get the win, but couldn’t get anything going on Buakaw.

    Fortunately, for him judges suck.

  12. totally disappiontment, shocking decision, K1 is a joke.
do they score pionts for bounceing around?
Buakaw owned AS in every aspect of the fight,

    H

  13. I watched this video last night; I agree with most, that it was a BS decision.

BPP had some very nice dumps, good kicks, and was fairly aggressive; Souwer did well, but I do not think he won any of the rounds; sure as hell do not think he won the fight..

Is this shitty decision inherent to K1? I here a lot of rumble about how the K1 judges score…………………….

  14. I guess k1 doesn’t count the throws, sweeps and ring control; they keep messing with BPP. Why round 4?

  15. yeah throws and sweeps in k-1 don’t score points. dont’ know why people keep doing it though, like overeem and buakaw. maybe just to tire their opponent out.

  16. lol @ nice dumps ^^^^

  17. I think this was a very poor decision and unfair to all the fighters if this was dirty in any way. Souwer was definitely worst for wear after this bout and really was not fresh enough to even think about facing Petrosian in the final. If the fight was scored accurately and Buakaw would have faced him in the final I’m not saying he would have been a sure win but it would have been a better fight. I bet a real challenge would bring the best out of Por Pramuk but it was stolen. Im done with K1 if Por Pramuk retires.

  18. the judges gave a free victory 2 petro

  19. We all know how K-1 judging and rules system works. It’s biased. So I’m not surprised with the result.
If anyone is into K-1 MAX, watch out what are they going to do to Petrosyan, I already feel sorry for him. I won’t be surprised if they set some new rules, of course not in favor of Petrosyan.

  20. This is an outrage. K1 must be stopped (Dramatic Face) LOL. But seriously, Why is k1 allowed to be the Show of all shows? The Muay thai community is so freaking big but your telling me that The Dutch and Japanese are the only ones who can put on a show of this magnitude? Yo we have brain power and financial power if we could just find a way to get this off the ground. The best fighters in the world are not fighting in K1,or MMA with the exception of a select few. they are Nak muay but K1 is not allowing them to fight. I think The Champion of Champions in Jamaica had the fight card but not the promotion or Location to really be a super show. K1 just has all the Flashy lights and builds up hype behind fighters and makes the fighters almost superstars. Thats what people want. I highly doubt they will ever let our Golden boys Yodsanklai,Sanchai,Any other Top Thais have a chance. Its truly a shame.

  21. I don’t think everyone should start hating k-1 just because of one awful call.I mean,it happens and most of there calls are ok

  22. agreed, i kind of enjoy the separation between K-1 and Muay Thai. every organization is going to have some kind of bum call or trashy refs, it’s a bummer for buakaw but i’m sure he will rebound just fine. I’m glad that petro is doing well, he’s got solid muay thai out of all the k-1 contenders currently.

  23. “I don’t think everyone should start hating k-1 just because of one awful call”
It’s not about one call, it’s about bazillion of things when it comes to K-1.

  24. Its not just this recent call that has so many upset. K1 has a history of these type of things happening. Plus We need full thai Rules or at least clinching. MT1 anyone? Im fine with only 3 rounds just allow full Thai rules and play fight music. But Im just tired of these questionable calls and the shady polotics.

  25. Easy B is dropping bombs! I absolutely agree with what you said; however, even if they don’t count the clinch, they should at least score the sweeps and the kicks!!!
They robbed BPP in 06 when he lost to Souwer, and they robbed Sato and Arthur K last year by giving the crown to Masato.
WE NEED TO START OUR OWN CHAMPIONS VS CHampions!!!

  26. what a shame. I think BPP has the better shot at beating Petro.

  27. omg…if it’s a thai match…buakaw is clearly the winner… it’s pretty obvious k1 judges recognize clear punches more than anything else…after all the knees and low roundhouse…(exclude mastery throws executed), buakaw could have won…to me, all 3 rounds to bpp…no extra round needed…and reli, kudos to bpp for coming up with a way to hold his opp without clinching…though ref still barked for clinching…din see any pt deduction…wonder if next yr bpp is still fighting…hope he follows this path of strategy and keep on fighting k1..

  28. (http://muaymag.com/buakaw-to-fight-in-2010-k-1-manager-disappointed-with-judges.html):

Buakaw to fight in 2010 K-1, manager ‘disappointed’ with judges

Thailand’s Buakaw Por Pramuk will be fighting in 2010 K-1 Max tournament, says his manager who is “disappointed” with the judges who let Buakaw lost to Dutch fighter Andy Souwer in the 2009 tournament’s semifinal.

Buakaw lost by decision after a special round the K-1 tournament’s semifinal held in Yokohama, Japan, on October 26. Souwer proceeded to the final on the same day but was defeated by Italy’s Giorgio Petrosyan.

Upon returning to Thailand, Buakaw’s manager Pramuk Rojanatan said he is disappointed with the K-1 judges because he believes Buakaw was actually winning the fight, especially in the first three rounds.

“Even in the special round, Buakaw was able [to fight]. So, I don’t understand why we lost. Earlier, there was a warning that the Japanese organizer did not want Buakaw to become the first three-time K-1 winner because then he would become a greater fight than Japanese superstar Masato. I didn’t believe this report at first, but now I can’t help not to think about it,” said Pramuk.

Buakaw also thinks he was performing well in the match and should have been the winner.

“I tried my best, fighting cautiously and landing clear hits. Souwer ended up with bloodied face after the third round, but yet I did not win. In the special round, I did my best again and was so confident, but I lost the fight. I didn’t know what to do anymore,” said the fighter.

According to his manager, Buakaw will continue to fight in K-1 events, with the next match scheduled in Japan in February. He will also fight in the 2010 K-1 Max tournament with an aim to become the first three-time K-1 winner.

  29. Im so depressed T_T man K-1 must seriously want Buakaw out… but Andy is a quality fighter and he will surely know that he didn’t deserve to win….. but yeah i’m speechless about K1… wtf!

  30. Aside from it being a complete farce, (im pretty sure everyone who watched this is in agreement), how good would the BPP/Petro final have been?!!That would have been an incredible fight to watch.Much better than watching Sauer getting largely dominated for 2 fights. He is a tough bastard tho aint he?!

  31. Id love to know why K1 seem so hell bent on BPP not winning, does seem almost to go without saying now?Any thoughts?

  32. Because They want Masato to win…

  33. sorry to side track a lil’ to my barking…and becoz of the jap favourtism nature, the unworthy yuya yamamoto was there in the final 4. And probably Petrosyian didn’t even break into sweat after KOing him, before facing the damaged Souwer who suffered endless throws, sweeps, knees and most obviously the cut under the eye, by BPP. Damaged + shagged Souwer vs Petrosyian was reli not the way to be… i wud hv loved to see Bpp vs Petrosyian…

  34. If Buakaw doesn’t come back they really should get Yod in there. Also, would love to see Yod vs. Petrosyan Muay Thai in rules.

  35. vgl
“ONE awfull call” You can HARDLY say this is something that has not happened before. 2004, Buakaws first Max finals, against Masato, The Extra Round, Ring a bell?? Or Buakaws “Loss” against Kraus! Dragos So Called Defeat to Yamamoto! Even Kyschekos Win against Souwer could be discussed!! So dont feed us that Bullshit, ONE AWFULL CALL. K-1 is on Thin Fucking Ice, and when it breaks, the Fall is going to bee loong and Hard, for the FEG and K-1, The Japanese people must be ashamed of their Shameless Countrymen!!

  36. just saw it on HDNet with KhanomRay. easy B tried not to spoil it for us in the gym=)
No more K1 for me. I will get my kicks when I go to Thailand again next year. Even my ladyfriend watching who never hit a bag in her life was crying foul. Tampa muay thai declared a moratorium on anything K1 as of last night. I am glad to see Lotus back to roots…he looked like his old self..timing..legs were fast and crisp..knees, man we were screaming in my living room for him. I like Petro…next best thing to hainvg a Thai in there. From the 1st time I saw Petro last year I always said he would be the man to fight Yod..dont think he is ready yet..he has timing and skill..but somehow the best guys back up when they feel Yods repeated power…would be hell of a fight/rivalry

  37. AS took this one. BPP was the one fighting one-dimensional with the (blocked) high kicks and the endless clinching. He had very few to no clean punches at all and only threw jabs. AS tried to make the fight and let his hands go, whereas Buakaw was just fighting economically (constantly teeping).

BPP saying that the Japanese don’t want him to win… bs.

Petrosyan fought well though. Clean, crisp punches and hard kicks (I imagine). I just wish AS could’ve given him more of a fight.

If you dont like K1, then stop watching. Stop bitching about how all you orginal, true, pure Nak Muays are always discriminated against. We know it by now; you guys are the best and anyone who doesn’t agree is a fool.

    Let the name calling begin!!!!!

  38. Sure Alpha Sure…. Andy won this one LOOL
Sure Alpha SURE…..Buakaw was never dicriminated against by K-1 LOOOOOL
Sure Alpha SURE…… We dont determine Fights outcome, by watching the Fights, only by Categorising who is a Nak Muay and who isnt LOOOOOOOL
No Name Calling neede here Alpha, your comments speaks for themselves!!

  39. Well said shady…

  40. the japanese again prove to be pathetic.

butsorry folks, bpp would not have stopped petrosyan.
