Amsterdam or Bust

February 14, 2007 by nopstar

Who’s down? I haven’t been on a good road trip for quite sometime. I spoke to Samkor last night and he mentioned that he’s fighting in the upcoming Slamm Event on May 6th. I don’t see his name on the fight card, but who am I to be like “Uh no your not”… Anyway if he says he’s fighting then I’m sure he is. He says he’s going to be bumping up and fighting at 72 kg.

The prosposed line up for this event is nasty. It reads like a who’s who of ass kickers. For those of you who don’t know, the Slamm event is sold as “Thailand vs. The Netherlands”, the promoters of this event get serious talent. Here is the current proposed line up:

Faldir VS Buakaw 70 kg
Starring VS Samranchai 69 kg
Hassan VS Anuwat 61 kg
Spong VS Suriya 76 kg
Fikri VS Orono 67 kg
Andy Souwer VS Senchainoi 70 kg
Vincent VV VS Koaklai 80 kg
Jimmy Eimers VS Hansuk 66 kg
? VS Samkor 72 kg

I looked into airlines this morning, the best I could do from San Francisco, was $800. Am I smok’in rocks or does that seem expensive? The cheapest room I could find in Haarlem was $96/night. I don’t think I can take off that much time from work so I’m thinking about heading out on Thursday coming back Monday or Tuesday. I’m hoping that prices will soften up. What do you think? wait? or book now? I used Kayak, and Sidestep to search for fares. If you think their is a better online service please share.

That is rad. I am gonna look into this too. I’ll let you know if I find any better prices. Any dutch friends on here that are down for some drinks pre-event?

For my tickets to Thailand I always went with orbitz.com. Except one time I missed my flights and that canceled out all of my other tickets. So I had to by new ones from the airport (St. Louis) and they ended up being $300 cheaper than the ones I bought online or any othe prices I checked…

Aren’t Evan and Neungsiam fighting in NYC in May as well. If they happen to fight that same weekend it would be bad ass.

Muay Thai in Harlem? Maybe we could see a match between Bad News Brown and Buakaw.

Anyway, should be a good card! De La Hoya is fighting Mayweather on that same weekend too! Great fights abound!
