For those of you that are traveling to Thailand this soon … The parting gesture from the Sacked Thai Goverment was to Change the Visa extention from 30 days to 15 days… You wont find the NEW rules on any goverment web site or even @ the Thai Embassy web site… but its a fact as of 2nd December 2008 .

If you plan to stay more than 30 days in Thaialdn then take the time to get a VISA in advance and you will avoid the long and tedious Visa run every 15 days. Read more about it @ http://www.rawaimuaythai.com/Muaythai_FAQ.html#18

‘I’: Definitely agree with you on most of your points, but lets see how much change really comes from this. Political progress and change is usually slow, especially in a country like thailand were corruption is embedded within the society (from top to bottom).

The courts have ruled that the leaders of the PPP are out… but most of their MPs keep their seats, So we’ll have to see how effective this result has been. One thing is clear though, for once the people have been able to make themselves heard and this is a great victory in itself. It may make the next government think twice before trying to bleed the country dry…

It’s a step in the right direction.

oh another note, please remember what happened in the 1976 Thamassat Massacre… obviously not enough people know about it so I will explain a bit. So the short story is: some protestors were hung, university students staged a play about the hanging (October 4th) , some newspapers took pictures, rightist paramilitary groups were ready at the gates of Thamassat (October 5th),October 6th the groups began firing into the university using military weapons although the students pleaded for a ceasefire but the police chief authroized to free fire.

Pretty fucked up, eh? just a proof of a major necessity to reorganize Thai politics

But I am very disappointed about your comments about the PAD. Guys, do some damn research before you write stuff! The government is corrupt… extremely corrupt. Closing the airport was the best decision the PAD did… it made everything go alot quicker. I am NOT Thai but I do care about developing countries politics but obviously all these stupid ass farangs that go to Thailand to get prostitutes or lay out on the beach don’t give a crap about what the Thais have to go through with such massive governmental corruption. Don’t just sit your ass in the aiport but try to make the best of it.

Anyway I am arriving in Bangkok on December 18th. Everyone has tried to convince me not to go but as soon as my finals are over, I am packing up my shit and going. I suggest everyone to do that same if they can LOL…

The flight from Heathrow will not be direct. You will fly to Singapore most likely and take another fight from there to Phuket. It’s about about 45 minutes from Singapore so not bad at all.

I dont think that you can get a direct flight to Phucket from london does anyone know ? Last time I flew from heathrow to BKK then took an internal flight to Phuket, but if the fuckers are still in Suvarnabumi its not an option. I also read on Reauters today that its going to take them a week to get the airoprts open again after they leave as they have to sort out IT and security !

There is no way all the countries with tourist in Thailand mainly US and Europe will not intervene if the shit cracks off, they are just hoping to leave it as an Internal Matter within Thailand for now. Anyhow I heard they would be gone before tuesday. If you have some family in the army or police you should become very friendly and close(strictly platonic). Hang out with them more hahaha salaam..
