I forgot to put this fight up it was apart of the Best of Siam show in Paris.  It features one of my new favorite fighters to watch Meenayothin against Youssef Boughanem.

***Spoiler****

Not like I’m happy to see a fight end like this, but pout much?  Seriously? He’s getting an award for behaviour unfitting of a nak muay.  I’m gutted that it had to end this way… when Aikpracha’s leg was strung over the rope, and Boughanem was kicking his back, I would like to think that’s when the voice inside Aikpracha said I’m going to kill him.  I would love to see a rematch…

  1. This is the 2nd time this happened to his arm. I guess his career is now in jeopardy. Allthough I have seen Sakmongkols arm being popped out, but he managed to keep on fighting. I bet Thai opponents will now know to kick his arm a lot of times.. Not sure if promotors want to have a fighter with a weak arm again. I’m also wondering why Bhouganem get so many chances against top Thai opponents.

As for Bhouganem’s behaviour, really? What a f’n douchebag.

  2. Youssef is a nice fighter. He’s one of the better foreigners at the weight and deserves these type of fights more than a lot of farangs.

    Childish at the end, though.

  3. not too concerned with him being mad. it wasnt directed at his opponent so id ont see the problem really. he even gave respect to aikpracha after. so not a big deal imo. hes a competitor and hes good, and WAS DOING REALLY GOOD against aikpracha which probably explains his frustration…

  4. Seems like he was mad at himself more than anything, he was respectful at the end and eventually calmed down and accepted the fact that he couldn’t fight on that arm. Granted he did do a little stomping around and had a little tantrum in the heat of the moment, but i’m sure it was more a frustration at himself for not performing or just bad luck, i didn’t see any animosity towards aikpracha or the ref…not everyone can be the picture of dignity 100% of the time. Humans gonna human.

  5. Tantrum was over the top but you boys are right, he was pissed at his body for failing him when he needed it most..he was fine after. Also, I myself was a bit confused by the ref..did he not make it clear the fight was over? Even while I was watching it appeared to me that he never really called it over when the shoulder first popped..almost like he was calling for an opinion. Maybe Youssef thought he was still in..odd.
Anyway this guy gives as good as he gets

  6. Well, I’m not talking about him getting mad. I found it a bit childish to act this way though, you should stay calm in my opinion. i never see Thai fighters acting this way.
As for it’s behaviour, I personally don’t like kicking somebodys back four times if the leg is in the ropes. And also I didn’t like his behaviour when he came to Aikprachas corner to make weird faces to him (02:52).
I think he is a strong fighter, but he only loses. His last good result was the draw against Dernchonlek, so that’s why I’m doubting he should keep on fighting this level opponents.
But for me personally he can keep on fighting. His fights are very entertaining, and I like how he makes Thai opponents angry and make them want to destroy him.
Would like to see how he would do against Antuan.
