A Visit to Mr. Fat

I know most of you who make it over to Thailand to train are most likely watching your weight.  I feel very sad for you.

In my next life maybe I’ll start a street food blog…  when I’m back in Bangkok, it’s mostly to see friends and family.  I try to get my training in, but it’s mostly to keep from getting any fatter then I already am.

If you take a break from training and venture out at night… you may find yourself around Silom ave… Lots of bars and restaurants…

No trip to Silom or Bangkok for that matter would be complete without a stop at my favorite Moo Ping stand.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m a bit obsessed with Moo Ping (pork skewers)… it’s happiness on a stick.  Moo Ping is grilled and served with Sticky Rice (Khao Niew).

After the fights at Lumpini I normally head over to Silom for some cervesas and Moo Ping.  Not any old Moo Ping will do though… you’ll find me camped out in front of the 7 eleven at the corner of Silom and Convent roads.  There you’ll find the Moo Ping stand of Khun Uan (Mr. Fat) yeah he’s a little chubby… making in my opinion the best Moo Ping in the City of Angels.

At 10 baht a skewer you can do some serious damage… so if you’re trying to make weight I’d suggest you stay away.
