A Message to our community
July 24, 2007 by nopstar
I just wanted to take a few min. to talk to you about My Muay Thai. It’s been approximately 10 months since MMT was born. I can hardly believe it’s been that long… Originally I wanted to find a blog that was about the “Culture” of Muay Thai. Instead I found an abundance of MMA blogs. So I started blogging…

In that time we’ve had 195 posts with 1,536 comments. The number of people coming to the site per month has increased 740% from last year. I’m really psyched and excited to see our Muay Thai family growing.
So why am I telling you all of this? Don’t worry I’m not quitting, quite the opposite actually. I want to take MMT to the next level, but I need your help.
How can you help?
I’m not sure if you’ve notice but I’ve implemented a few improvements to the site.

Digg it & Share this
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Digg, Digg is a social website aggregator/news site. (Besides MMT this is probably the site that I spend the most time on.) All the content is submitted by users, if users like the story they can vote on it (Digg it). The more Digg’s the higher the story will climb. If you don’t have an account You can sign up for Digg here. If you like a post on MMT and you think it would be appropriate for Digg, I urge you to “Digg it”. Here’s a lists of posts that have already been submitted to Digg.com
Yardbarker.com is another great site, dedicated solely to sports. This site works exactly the same way as Digg.
Links to My Muay Thai
If you have a site, and you think MMT would be a good match please add a link.
What I plan on doing.
In addition to daily updates, I plan on creating original content. Original content is expensive and time consuming, but what the hell right? I’m planning on doing more video content around (Training tips, and Interviews)
Your Suggestions?
What do you think? What would you like to see more of? Should there be new sections to the site? Send me your suggestions; I want to be sure I’m doing things to improve our overall experience.
I want to thank everyone whose participating on MMT. I want to thank my sponsors, Muay Thai Art and Antarai Wear for supporting our addiction.
Thanks for your help,
Nopstar

grats.
more resources bout nak muays would be cool, interviews indd.
training tips im not sure, i rather read about the above than read about something i most likely already know. but it might be nice for `beginners`. but then again i’m not sure the kind of ppl that still need training tips are visiting this site..
Congrats on the success!
I have been visiting this site for the past several months and the content seems to keep on getting better and better. In addition, I have dugg and stumbledupon many of your entries in the effort of trying to get the word out about my favorite Muay Thai site (I’ll take credit for turning Spydaman on to this site).
I think that adding more video content is a great idea! Adding both beginner and advanced techniques/tips could prove useful to individuals of all skill levels. I would personally love to see more video content….I’ll watch anything as long as it relates to Muay Thai.
I think interviews would be awesome. Those of us in the bay area are lucky enough to be around a large amount of really great fighters and trainers; bunkerd, neungsiam, ganyao, jogansam (sp), etc. I’d love to see people get interviewed on the site.
Congrats. Its an awesome site, like my friend grapplemonkey, it’s for the love of the sport. I think everyone who visits this site do muay thai because they love the sport.
Congrats on the site growth, but I can’t say I’m surprised with it since every topic you post about is well written and interesting.
My only suggestion would be to please fix the RSS feed so that it displays the entire article instead of the first few lines of the topic followed by “This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more!”
Good JOB man…congrats. I’m sure I don’t “already know” everything there is to know about Muay Thai techniques even though I am not a “beginner”. I’m sure that a lotta people visiting this site can use a few tips here and there, as a matter of fact, if I remember well not too long ago someone was asking about a counter against people grabbing their leg. Besides if we know everything then we would all be world champions now wouldn’t we? …Anyway….Nopstar, you have done a beautiful job, not a day goes by without me checking your site at least 2 or 3 times. (Thanx Igal for tuning me onto this site). KEEP IT UP!
Muay thai techniques, training tips, interviews etc.
You are doing great. Stick to your guns and just cover Muay Thai (no MMA). I visit this site everyday and I think you are doing a good job. This is the kind of web site I have been looking for.
As for suggestions, boy, I’m not sure you seem to be doing pretty good so far! I would have to say, anything about cmps in Thailand, news about bigger amateur events (muay Thai only of course), stuff like that I guess.
Keep it up yo.
CONGRATS!!! I have to agree with Josh, stick to your guns, expand to amature events, and camps in thailand. As far as adding original content, interviews would be awesome, technique wise I’d stick to interesting drills/counters you’ve seen, this is a blog not an academy. It’d also be cool to be able to submit our fights and have them be commented. Anyways I’m rambling on too much, you’d think this was my website.
Very good! B ig ups to your site! I would like more pictures of hot chicks.
This is my first post, however I have been getting my daily dose of mymuaythai for the last couple months. I find the content informative and entertaining.
Have to agree with the other guys that there should be an ongoing forum about training camps in Thailand. I believe you are affiliated with Antarai Wear so why don’t you release a limited mymuaythai.com t-shirt. I’m sure many of your readers would support this idea.
Keep up the great work from an avid reader located down under in Oz.
Hey Fellas thanks for the feedback.
So to clarify, the training tips aren’t from me… I would be taping Neungsiam Samphusri, he knows a “bit” more then me. ;-)
As for the RSS, I had to do that because there a bunch of site who are re appropriating it as their own content. Slightly annoying but not the end of the world.
Interviews… check
Bobbay- Like your idea… you guys submit your fights and will have a special section where peeps can critique/enjoy the fights.
Sean- Thanks for posting, and welcome. T-shirts huh, gotta think about that.
Getting tips from Neugsiam would be an honor. Please make it happen. U da MAN NOP!!
Just wanted to say great job with this site!!!! One of the most informative and entertaining about MT culture for sure! Hope it continous to grow and grow :)
Congrats brotha..I’ve been a recent lurker on your site, and I must say that the stuff you post is quite resourceful! Keep it up, and I will probably purchase a t-shirt from Antarai Wear. Cheers!!
