Some of you may have already seen this, it’s a great watch. Props to Mark and FightGeek for sharing this with us. Mark where you at?
It’s sort of a long promo produced by the folks that bring us Slamm. It’s really well done and a good watch. Slamm is this coming Sunday and I’m getting pretty psyched. It will be by far the best Muay Thai ticket I’ve ever been to.
Part I
Still haven’t heard from the folks from Slamm so I’m not sure if I’ll get an “access”. I was toying around with getting a video camera, do the whole hand held thing, but the footage is always so bad.
It’s insane to think Anuwat started off as the help. “Hey Anuwat make me some Moo Ping!” My trainer Bunkerd started off almost the same way. When he initially went to Fairtex, they felt he was too small, he ended doing most of the clean up and training on his own. A few decades later he becomes a Rajadomnern and Lumphini Stadium Champion.
Part II
Sounds like a formula for success, you guys should run out and start mopping your gym floor asap.
It was interesting to hear Yod call out Buakaw… I’m not sure if we’ll get a Buakaw, Yodsaenklai match up. As you can see “Eak” (Yod’s thai nickname) clearly wants the fight to happen. I had a conversation with a Thai promoter last year and he didn’t think it would happen while Buakaw was still a hot commodity. He rationalized that the K-1 Max payout is so much money that the Por.Pramuk camp would protect that at all costs. So I guess we’ll see maybe in a couple of years…
I went and looked at a poll that we did back in January, a full 70% of you think Yod will beat Souwer. We’ll find out soon enough.
What do you think?

I will put my money on Yod for sure.
And it’s interesting to see Yod calling out Buakaw. I’m sure Buakaw wouldn’t mind taking on Yod too but I wonder what Buakaw feels about his promoter not wanting him to fight Yod.

That’s the fight everyone wants to see tbh. I’d do the pay per view thing to see it and I hate pay per view.

I’ve gotten to see both saenchi and anuwat fight in the last few months. Both are impressive fighters.
Saenchi is a pretty fun watch. He performed that traditional cartwheel kick on his opponent Orono at his fight on lumpinee’s birthday.
I got to see Anuwat fight at Rajadamern. He is like a little Mike Tyson. He has a huge upper body and crazy fast punches. My understanding is that he’s known as the “Iron Hands of Siam.” An apt name.

Yod should beat Souwer for sure in K-1 rules or MT rules. Seems to be too strong for a lot of opponents- that big left kick and left hand. Souwer has the edge in combinations, though.

This is the a great promo for Thai fighters.
So the ones going to the show must be counting days. How many of you guys will be there? Will you meet, get together?
Anyways, you’ll have a great time. Can’t wait to read your comments about the show.
And for the slamm… go Thailand go!

Yea lol, i dont care who wins in the Yod and Souwer matchup, its EPIC!. Well to me it it is. It should gauge what chance Yod would has against Buakaw.

My picks
Yod wins unanimous dec
Saenchai points dec
Anuwat TKO 3rd round
It’s true that Yod is a definite threat to BPP and he knows it. Yod is a killer, BPP skates thru 90% of his fights in Japan with the sole aim of not getting injured. That’s a big difference in style.

You guys are going to hate me…but I really think Andy Souwer will be taking it from Yod…since this is not full thai rules…

Buakawas I am also keen on seing how Yod will fight without all his weapons. Langsomkram Lost to Nicky H. and it was too no elbows.

The more i Learn about Saenchai the more I like him, he is right up there on my list with Buakaw And Yod. If not above them, but he is getting a bit old isnt He????
17 Tong Po // Feb 27, 2008 at 2:13 pm
I think Saenchai is 27 years old. Not sure though…
I pick Yod of Souwer because of the weapons that Yod shows (hard punches and hard kicks). He wins even without the use of elbows.

yod is stronger but souwer has a high work rate with his comboes maybe souwer by decision if he dont get KO’d
