So all of you are well aware the Contender Asia is slated to begin filming next month. They are keeping a pretty tight lid on the participants. I suspect they’ll be releasing the official 16 in the coming weeks. For the more observant users you may have noticed I’ve added a Contender Asia link to the header.
The page will act as the hub of all the Contender Asia coverage on MMT. Any further posts and coverage will be accessible from that page.
Anyway I’ve posted a list of the 5 confirmed participants and 2 rumored. My gut says that the two rumored fighters are highly likely candidates. I also saw that Peter Crooke was asked to be on the show, but his jobbie job the Police weren’t that impressed. totally blows.
I was surprised with their choice of “Zach” but I guess it’s in keeping with the spirit of the show.

Any ideas why these “Champions” are considered “Contenders”

Probably they’re a Contender to be the best Champion. I like Yod’s chances. I wonder if it will be full Muay thai rules. Can’t wait!

at first glimpse I almost thougth that wuz a picture of Numsaknoi…..I backed away from the PC did a triple back flip and then came back to the PC and realized that it wasn’t who I thought it was….DAMN IT!!!

Zach is our local boy. Though he is the least experience, but he is definately on a roll… have been K O - ing his opponents in his past 6 matches.. Anyway, he got all to win and nothing to lose… just hope he wont be star struck by all the awesome names out there.

Sorren Monkongton - Actually rep’d by NTG (Nuggets Thaiboxing Gym, QLD Australia). NTG has partnership with Eminent Air gym for Contender series. Fight is record 54-17-2 . Sorren sometimes changes to south pore stance maintaining a technique which is calm and relaxed but sharp and powerfull.
