2009 K1 MAX Finals
October 26, 2009 by nopstar

If you’re reading this message, I’m on a plane to Bangkok and the videos for the max finals are still not out.
So this is where you guys are going to have to drive a bit. Feel free to post links to the fights in the comments.
No spoilers! - If you do, I’m sure you will get abused by the community.
I’ll try to get the clips up as soon as I’m in front of a computer with internet.

Here’s a link to the finals… special thanks to splatjay2 of K-1 fans for the upload. I tried converting it, but I’m at an intenet cafe in BKK… says it’s going to take over an hour to upload.

I’ve never seen Souwer beaten like this, by the way, that cut actually saved him, otherwise he could be KOed.
And I’ve never seen Petrosyan so sharp, fast and powerful. He’s a true champ.
Petrosyan has slowed down and cleaned up his pace to be more effective with less wasted activity. all developing fighters seem to go through this. no? his work rate has lowered but with more effective combinations and counters. his slow rock to the left and right and leaning more with the punches has made him more solid and planted as opposed to being high and on the tips of his toes with less power. i’m loving the way he’s developing. feel sorry for buakaw though. souwer didn’t let up though. they all fought hard and good.
Hey, has anyone else heard about this? I was just reading some blogs and it looks like Masato will not be facing Petrosyan as his final opponent because Petrosyan fractured his right hand.

Man, and I was looking forward to seeing Petrosyan smash him…
According to interviews Petrosyan will face Masato on NY

Gusnark: Yeah, that was my original impression as well, but those interviews were posted before this new announcement by the FEG president. I guess we’ll know more in a week or two.
Hah, right after I posted that I came across this: http://www.headkicklegend.com/2009/11/4/1114297/sato-challenges-masato-for-nye.
Looks like we’re going to be seeing Sato vs Masato in NYE instead of Petrosyan. :/
Sorry for the double post.
