Anuwat Kaewsamrit vs. Santiparp Sitou-Ubon
August 29, 2008 by nopstar · 6 Comments
What’s up Nak Muays?… it’s been sort of a crazy week, I’ve been meaning to spend more time on the blog. This thing called work keeps interfering… don’t they know this is important business?
Anyway, I leave you this weekend in the hands of Anuwat Kaewsamrit, aka “The Iron Hands of Siam” vs. Santiparp Sitou-Ubon. (brownie points if you can tell me what Santiparp’s ironic name means) This next clip was from the 22nd Eminent Air show at Lumpini. The other big fight on the card was Sagetdao Petchpayathai vs. Jomthong Chuwattana. I doubt we’ll be getting footage of that show. Anyone interested in the results can find them on MuayThaiFocus.com
For those of you who don’t have access to veoh you can watch it here. Read more
Lamsongkram vs. Shane Campbell

]Next Thursday, for those of you out in West Coast if you feel like driving into the middle of nowhere, you can watch MyMuayThai friend Lamsongkram Chuwattana mix it up with Shane “Shaolin” Campbell. Campbell represents the Iron Tiger Muay Thai Camp in Canada. I’m not certain of his record but I know he’s got wins over Alain Sylvestre and Trevor Smandych.

I notice Campbell’s got some bling of his own, unfortunately the only the one that matters is in Lamsongkram’s right hand. Read more
Buakaw on Tour?
August 27, 2008 by nopstar · 14 Comments
I hope Buakaw owed somebody a favor or something, not quite sure what he was doing at the fabulous Patong Stadium… The sad part of it is that I’m willing to bet 90% of the people present don’t even have a clue who he is. This was taken just a few weeks ago… thanks to Tiger Muay Thai for posting and Gusnark for brining it to our attention.
I know it’s just a simple pad demo but for me the timing is all wrong. If he hadn’t lost I wouldn’t try to read anything into it… Read more
Hard Knock Life

Another Olympics come and gone, watching the boxing and the TKD, you can’t help wonder when they’re going to implement electronic scoring. There were so many shady calls. I saw a clip on tv, where this inventor has essentially fitted sensors in the gloves and body armor… any blows that have enough force behind them will register. Seems like a no brainer.

If and when Muay Thai does make it into the Olympics where going to run into the same issues with judging. Anyway, I don’t want to get side tracked this post isn’t about the scoring or judging.
Big Congrats to Somjit and Manus for securing some bling for the Kingdom. One fighter who won’t sharing the spotlight is Amnat Ruenroeng. Despite losing in the quarter finals, I find his story more compelling then any gold medal. I wanted to share this article from the Bangkok post with you guys. You can read the original article here.
I’m a huge sucker for these types of stories, anyway a huge congratulations to Amnat for making it as far as he did. I hope good things can happen for him. Read more
Battle of the Bay

Congrats to our MMT community members Rockintaco and Matt Lucas on their fights this past weekend. I know a lot of our members fight, so if you’ve got a fight coming up and you want me to plug it, drop me an email. This post is by Matt, if you remember he did a post for us on his fight in Pattaya. Enjoy.
By Matt Lucas
He gave me a hungry look. A carnivorously hungry look. I wondered if he had practiced it in the mirror before the bout, maybe it was part of his regular exercise regime, I thought as the referee gave us our last second instructions.

My Muay Thai.com members: Rockintaco & Matt “Devil Eyes” Lucas
I was hungry the day before. I woke up at 7:40 am with a few pounds ofanxiety weighing on my brain and sadly my body. Slipping on my sauna suit, a hoodie, and some sweat pants I went out on a morning jog. The
goal was to cut out a few pounds to make the night weigh in. The run was mundane, not sweaty enough, and full of worry. As my feet hit the pavement, small bits of sweat created lakes in the arms of my plastic
suit, my mind felt like a sixteen year old girl with an eating disorder. It kept running over and over the same thought, “I’m too fat.” Read more
