Well I finally got to watch the fights… honestly not sure if it was worth the wait.  I had to do some seriously scrambling, as the PPV didn’t support macs.  I think I’m done bitching about this event; I’m tired of taking up so much MyMuayThai real estate.

Traipsing about London

Some of you might be experiencing some déjà-vu seeing this post.  I had a post up last week, but some people were uncomfortable with it and asked to have it pulled.  I’ve had a lot of that this past week.  Quite frankly I’m getting a little tired of discussing the whole Jamaica event.

A dear friend of mine Romana originally introduced me to Lamsongkram (LA Show). Ah so it looks like most of the vids have been taken down.  The fight promotion company has been feverishly emailing people for copyright infringement.  Oh well, not making friends with me or this community.

This post makes a lot less sense with out the clip…  if you would rather wait to view the fight, don’t read any further.

Holy Crap where did they find the announcers for this event?  I’m not sure who I find more irritating Hammer the Australian announcer from the Contender Asia or these guys?  Actually I think Hammer actually knows what the hell he’s talking about.

For those of you who are watching this from outside the US… these announcers are typical of northern California.  I don’t know if you’re going to fly in legit fighters, a legit Thai ref, is it so hard to find someone who knows what their talking about? Read more

Malaipetch vs. Yodsanklai

Was it me or does this place look empty?   Figures… I shelled out $50 (multiple purchases) bucks and still no love from the PPV trolls.  So effing jank… to all of you guys who subscribed and still haven’t gotten what you paid for I apologize.  Last time I recommend anything from these guys.

 

I thought Hammer was bad but at least he knows what he’s watching and has a clue what he’s talking about.   Clearly they cut corners on PPV back end and the announcers.  So not really the fight I was hoping for… The two things that I got from this match up were… Malaipetch is one tough bastard.  Read more

Attachai Fairtex vs. Fabio Pinca

I don’t know why but initially I wasn’t expecting much from this bout.  I had seen Pinca in action in LA and thought he looked good then.  I’ve seen very little of Attachai in action.  I know Attachai was maybe still is a Lumpini Stadium Champ.  Prior to Fairtex he was with Samranchai Camp and Chai-Yai gym in Chiang Mai.

I didn’t think this fight was going to get so personal.  Did you guys notice the knees?  90% were “Chaw Yang” “Puncturing tires” aka dead legs… I think Pinca started it.  I can’t think of too much else which would get me as worked up as knees to my thighs. Read more

Ong Bak 2 Trailer

Big thanks to MMCMuayThai for passing this one along.  It’s the trailer for Ong Bak 2.  I’m not really sure what they’re shooting for on this one.  It looks more like a promo clip for Tony Jaa.

It’s a bit “Jup Chai” trying to be too much of everything.  I think Pranom’s a spectacular athlete, but I don’t give a shit about his kung fu abilities… I think the idea is he’s saved by these 5 martial arts masters and is trained in each of their styles?  I guess they’re trying to branch out to a wider audience.

This weekend I tried watching Muay Chaiya… I stopped it about half way through.  I did a post on it months ago… it was the one with the ridiculous sound effects.  It really was horrible.  Not sure if I’m going to finish it.  I guess I’ll wait until I’m stuck on a plane or something.
