It looks like the Slamm folks put on another successful show the other night. These guys have a knack at getting talent on their cards. I can’t wait to catch some of their shows. Many Thanks to Payap of the K-1 Forums for posting these pics. You can view the rest of the pictures and results here.

This last event was “One Night in Bangkok” The Line ups included the likes of Attachai Fairtex, Lamsongkram Chuwattana, Anuwat Kaewsamrit, Tyrone Spong, just to name a few.
As Always I’m waiting to get some clips of the fights. One of the results that caught my eye Read more

So here’s our first glimpse into the The Contender Asia. I don’t think it’s going to be their official trailer, but It’s good to get any content from these guys. Here is it again, enjoy it while it lasts, I’m sure there going to rip this down within a few hours. Many thanks to our brother Gaijinu of Muay Thai Singapore, for hunting this down
This looks fantastic. I’m trying not to read to much into the fact that this is a Spike TV branded player. I don’t know how it works, if only Spike Affiliate videos are allowed to show up on this channel. Anyway enjoy. Many thanks to Yaoo for bringing this to our attention.

In Thailand I would have to take you fools out to dinner… isn’t that a crap deal? Why do I have a pic of Mango and Sticky Rice? Because everyone knows Mango and Sticky Rice pwns cake.

Complex Training for Muaythai Power
October 26, 2007 by Mark · 12 Comments
By Mark Mian of the AlterCenter
Boxers and martial artists have always been warned about developing heavy, slow and inefficient muscles by lifting weights. Beyond pushups, pullups, and situps, Thai fighters themselves rarely engage in other forms of resistance training to supplement their conditioning. There is some merit to this: simple weight lifting methods alone will not produce much useful muscle for Muay Thai. Why? Because traditional weightlifting movements are generally slow and sustained while Muaythai’s actions are fast and explosive. However, when used with the correct protocols, training with weights can tremendously increase peak speed and power output. It’s all in the programming…

Say Hello to Mark

Hey Fellas,
I’m excited to introduce you guys to Mark Mian. He’s a co-founder of the AlterCenter in San Francisco.
I met Mark about a year ago when he was training Neungsiam (my trainer). Neungsiam had taken quite the hiatus from the ring and needed every advantage to get back into fighting shape.
Personally if I had an upcoming fight and I could assemble my own personal “A Team” I would have Nuensiam to make sure my skills were up to snuff, and I would have Mark to make sure my mind and body were in sync and ready for war.
It’s a serious endorsement, when Jongsanan and Nuengsiam both claim they wouldn’t even think about preparing for a fight without Mark. Nuengsiam admitted to me that if he would have had Mark with him in Thailand, it would have extended his career and he would have been a much, much stronger fighter.
Mark is going to be doing a new segment on MMT called “Transformation”, I know you guys will appreciate the knowledge and insight he has to offer.
