Apidej Sit-Hirun

For those of you who consider yourselves Nak Muay, Apidej Sit-Hirun is a name I think you should know. Don’t you think its funny the further you get away from Thailand them more people are comfortable calling themselves “Master” (Ajarn). There are a few senior Monks at a Thai Forrest Monestary here in Northern California that I address as Ajarn. Personally I think it’s a nice Marketing ploy, it fits in with the traditional martial arts world to refer to oneself as master.

Vitali Klitschko coming to K-1?
March 29, 2007 by nopstar · 3 Comments
More K-1 rumors flying, a few weeks ago I posted some news that K-1 was looking to recruit Marius Pudzianowski. I thought it this was typical K-1 sideshow type shit. This week I came across another rumor, however this time it actually sounds viable. I didn’t know this but the retired heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko had a kick boxing background. I’ve found an old youtube clip of him fighting.
I’m honestly think he would do fairly well. You’ve got Mighty Mo who’s based his entire career around his hands. I don’t think there is really any doubt about Klitschko’s boxing abilities; and at 6′5″ he’s nearly as tall as Schilt.
What do you guys think?
What’s your price?
March 28, 2007 by nopstar · 4 Comments
I was trolling Ebay yesterday and came across this listing. The guy hasn’t listed his name, but states that he’s being trained by Nathan Corbett at the 5 Rings Dojo in Queensland Australia.

“Amateur Muay Thai fighter seeking corporate sponsor(s). Trained by 5 time and current world champion Nathan ‘Carnage’ Corbett and Mal ‘Bull’ Scott of Five Rings Dojo. Made ring debut in Dec 06 at a Boonchu Amateur Tournament with a TKO due to referee stoppage in the 2nd round. Will continue to build amateur career in 2007 but need sponsorship to do it. Full promotional rights at every fight, seen by a large crowd as well as DVD and printed media.”
“For the right price I will have your logo tattooed on my body.”
I’m thinking about starting a collection so I can get My Muay Thai across his forehead. Shit, do you guys remeber that women who got the casino tattooed on her forehead? She did that for a paltry $15K, damn that’s a whole lot of meth.
So what would your price be for a 4×6 logo tattooed on your chest? Personally I wouldn’t be down for it, so I’d charge at least $40K. How about you?
Tyrone Spong vs. Amir Zeyada

Some interesting news for the Spong fan’s out there… I wrote a post a few weeks ago about the young, up and coming fighter Tyrone Spong. Tyrone fought Sunday night against Amir Zeyada. Zeyeda (23-7-2) is trained by Thom Harinck of Chakuriki. As you remember Tyrone was on a bit of a tear, winning his last 8 fights by KO.
This is the only footage I could find. I’ll be sure to post something more clear when I can find it. If any of you come across anything please be sure to shoot me an email. “Petteri” you’re from Utrecht… did you make it to this fight?

The Ugliest Shorts in Muay Thai (Round 2)
March 26, 2007 by nopstar · 5 Comments
Honestly, I don’t know how I missed these the first time around. I got a lot of flak from people saying Muay Thai isn’t a fashion show. I got it, you don’t care, that’s fine I however will continue to poke fun at your shorts because… I’m kind of a dick like that. So once again here are my nominees for the worst Muay Thai shorts. This time I’m going to change it up a bit. I’m going to let you vote on them. Damn, it’s getting all interactive up this MF.
Pimp’in ain’t easy

Honestly these are so fucking ugly they’re bad ass. Your pimp hand better be strong if your rock’in these. Damn if Sho Nuff fought Muay Thai… he’d wear these. That shit’s got real tiger fur too, these shorts are so expensive and rare because they have to kill an entire tiger just to put the fur on these Read more
The One Arm Bandit
March 23, 2007 by nopstar · 3 Comments
Before you get your panties in a bunch “One arm bandit” is his ring name. The other day I was at the gym, I was looking at an old fight poster and something caught my eye. I thought that’s a strange, the way they’ve shot this pic it looks like the fighter only has one arm. I did a little research and it is indeed true. The fighter I’m talking about is Baxter Humby. He trains out of LA and according to his site has a 53-10-1 record.
It’s hard to believe that one could be effective missing an entire fist and elbow. It appears from the clip that he does use his right for striking. Anyway I’m posting an interview and a fight clip.
