2007 K-1 KHAN

Kaoklai vs Yong Park SooDid any of you catch K-1 Max Korea event the other day? Of course you didn’t, we live in the US and the only thing we get is the IFL and the Chuck Norris’s booty wearing crap.

I’m posting two vids, you can find the rest of the action here. The First fight is the extra round between Kaoklai and Korean hopeful Park Yong Soo. Honestly your not missing a whole lot by just catching this last round.

Soo’s about 6′7″ and a member of the Korean National Team. Soo has never one a title and has clearly spent most of his time in the point sparring world. He’s had a few wins over the months but they were against crap opponents.

Kaoklai vs. Park

This match was awful. I’m ashamed to admit it but when I was watching this, I was vacillating between wanting Kaoklai to finish him to wanting Kaoklai to get knocked the fuck out. I think Kaoklai has probably got the worst hands of any Thai Muay Thai fighter I’ve ever seen. He needs to get with Buakaw’s boxing trainer asap. You would think that in these past few months he would have learned to keep his hands up. If he thinks he can pull that shit again at Slamm he’s gonna take another nap.

Soo is complete feeb. If you decide to watch the clip there are a couple of times where he lands his TKD kick and throws his hands up like he just one the point. If he was put into a ring with the likes of Shilt, JLB or any of the heavyweights for that matter he would get annihilated end of story. I’m only posting the extra round between these two because to be honest the first 3 rounds aren’t worth a damn. If you want to see the whole fight check out the previous link.

Both of them looked physically unprepared for their bouts. Kaoklai had better get his ass in gear for Slamm, he can get by with these slower fighters, but he’ll get owned if he tries this shit with someone his own size.

Sirimongkol vs. Hanwool Kim

Sirimongkol is a former WBC super featherweight champion; he shocked a lot of people by taking this fight. Apparently he’s been waiting a while for another shot at the belt. He’s also made headlines by posing nude for a gay porno mag. Apparently during the Governments crack down on porn, he was fined about $100. WARNING: If you’re going to do a Google image search on him be sure your filter is set to safe.

Kim did the smart thing and didn’t try to box him. During the fight you can hear Sirimongkol’s corner yelling for him to “Use his hands” really you think he should?

Naturally, because you mentioned the nude spread, I had to look it up. Now I am blind. Regardless, I thought Sirimongkol look pretty impressive (in his fight)!

Horrible. Who is K-1’s “talent” recruiter. I swear the Kaoklai vs. Park looked like a smoker.. except the girl in the black Fila ‘fit that walked into the ring after was pretty hot from what I could tell. . Nothing like an overhand right to shut someone up haha

by the way get it straight. Park is not on the national team. He left TKD national team because he couldn’t beat out the competition he was always one of the 2nd rate heavy weights. And the first 3 rounds show him with Kaoklai, they were pretty even and I would even go so far as to say Park was ahead on the score card. Park’s weakness is and always has been his stamina, which sucks. So even with Park and his crappy TKD skills, it was a handful for Kaoklai, just look at his relief.

    Anonymous or TKD fan

The point of this post isn’t to compare TKD vs. MT, I’ll leave that for the kids on sherdog. That being said you’re not going to find anyone on this blog who’ll sympathize with you. This post is about how bad the entire fight was, both Kaoklai and Park.

As for Soo being a “handful” for Kaolai…really? You think? I would think a 70 lbs weight difference in fighters is going qualify as a handful

Kaoklai looks worse than I did at the first smoker I fought! Thank you for taking the time to post that fight, but that was TERRIBLE.

Did anyone catch the Thopadak (Sinbi Taewoong) fight? That guy has a really nasty headkick.

Wow, gigantic koreans, gay porn, what else can K-1 ask for? Korean ring-girls are really hot and I always looked forward to KOMA girls.

Oh, and for the record TKD doesn’t seem to translate well as a ring sport.

Especially when you throw your hands up in victory after “scoring” a point.. hahahaha
