Check out this poster for this years MAX. It’s a poster in a poster. Buakaw is pimping pretty hard. Thank god he isn’t rocking his white suit this year. If anyone knows where I can get the giant flying knee poster, I would love to order it.
Damn, just once I would like to make it to Max. Have any of you ever been? How much are tickets and more importantly how difficult are they to get a hold of?
Most of the names here should be familiar to you. There were a few fighters here who I’ve never heard of. “JZ” was one of them. I started digging and came to the realization that his Masato match up is a joke. Cavalcante may be a strong MMA fighter, but a Nak Muay he’s not. It would be like throwing Buakaw into the cage… he’d get smashed.
Oh well I guess being a national hero has its benefits.
So here are the lineups as well as the odds for the fight.
Thursday, June 28 ‘07 at Nippon Budokan, Tokyo, Japan.
Masato (Japan) 2/1 (2.00)
Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante (Brazil) 3/1
Buakaw Por. Pramuk (Thailand) 2/1
Nicky Holtzken (Holland) 10/1
Andy Souwer (Holland) 2/1
Ian Schaffa (Australia) 7/1
Drago (Armenia) 4/1
Mike Zambidis (Greece) 3/1
Yoshihiro Sato (Japan) 2/1
Denis Schneidmiller (Germany) 7/1
Albert “Fashion Statemen” Kraus (Holland) 3/1
Virgil Kalakoda (South Africa) 5/1
Artur Kyshenko (Ukraine) 2/1 (2.00)
Soo-Hwan Lee (Korea) 3/1 (3.00)
Super Fights
Takayuki Kohiruimaki (Japan) 4/1
Tsogto Amara (Mongolia) 3/1
Tatsuji (Japan) 2/1
Andy Ologun (Nigeria) 5/1
Many thanks to spydaman for sending me the info on the line ups. I’m always open to suggestions, if there is anything you guys think is worth covering or talking about. Send it to me.

That’s a badass poster! I’m interested in the Zambo v Drago fight. Should be explosive! I don’t see anyone de-throning the 2x champ.
War Buakaw

dammit i want that poster too!! the one with the knee strike.
are you serious about buakaw getting smashed in the octagon? i don’t think it’d be that easy.. even if he knows jack about ground grappling or MMA. which i doubt since he has such phenomenal stand-up grappling skills and balance. he’d probably lose to top MMA fighters in his weight class, but smashed? umm.. no, i don’t think so. (can you imagine letting him loose with his elbows full on against ANY MMA fighter today?)

The picture on the k-1 website is even better:

I just emailed my brother who is stationed in Japan to see if he can somehow snag some of those posters.

Souvik-
Full respect to Buakaw, but the ground game in MMA is just so important. I think any grappler facing BPP would be insane to try to stand with him. I think they would bum rush him and try to tackle him. I would imagine it would look very similar to the John Wayne Parr vs. Bonello.

That poster is sick! I’ve been wanting to go see K-1 live since I was in high school.

My Japanese is bad, but it looks like tickets range from ~$60 - $230USD. Actually cheaper than UFC tix.

Hi.. greetings from sunny california. I realize this post was from a while ago. Did you ever find out where to get a copy of the flying knee poster? I’m still looking for an image of the poster without buakaw in front.
